Right so i searched this forum and found alot of bad things about Alexa and i guess its opened my eyes.
My sites been online for just under a month now and yesterday we broke under 10k on the Alexa ranking, mind you were bak to 15k something for today but its still good.
If alexa is really so inaccurate why do so many ad sites include your alexa rank when advertisers buy spots on your page?
Ive been working on my alexa rank to get more ads that pay more and i was getting really excited that it was continually going up.. is Alexa really that inacurate? I feel like i wasted my time.
Even though the Alexa ranking system is flawed (because not everyone has the tool bar installed on their PC), it's still a decent way to compare sites and can give you an idea of the kind of traffic a site gets. I just wouldn't rely on that alone. I like to use PageStrength and others and look at the complete picture.

It's not a complete waste of time and nothing wrong with a few bragging rights because some people do value Alexa's ranking stats. Just understand it's completely unreliable. One of my site's gained an extra 400 uniques per day in 2 months but my Alexa ranking went down. So it's not an accurate reflection of your traffic numbers by any means.
