Default 5 Most Effective Steps I Did To Almost Double My Traffic.

This is something which I blogged about and I will like to share with all of you guys. This below write up is from my blog.

For few months I have been trying increase my website traffic which has been stagnant and not increasing very much. After many methods of trying to increasing my traffic, I finally have actually almost double it. I realized that out of countless methods which I used, there were 5 methods which significantly increased my traffic. Here are the list which is not so secret, but it definitely worked for me and I believed it will do the same for you.But be ready to get glued to your PC.

1. Article Marketing - yes and yes you have heard it before and I am telling you again. It really worked for me. I actually made an effort to write 30 articles and submitted them to 30 article directories manually. It almost made my eyes to go red staring at my computer screen too long.It was hard work and the results were sweeter too. Let me give you an illustration: 30 articles in 30 directories = 900 articles submitted in various places. My target was simple, only 20 percent of the articles were expected to be read in a day and only 10% readers will actually come to my website. This was working, and I started to see readers coming to my website from my cpanel statistic report and search engines start to list few of my articles for certain keywords.

I made sure my articles were properly written with certain keywords phrases used in them with about 5% density. I prefer phrases rather than single keywords because of less competitiveness.

2. Google My Competitor Website - this is another way which I did for entire week where I Google my competitor website domains and found all the places which Google are referring them from for inquires base on their domain name. If I find a way to place my profile or some article of mine in the same referring site, I will do it. Even blogs which talking about the competitors, I will comment (constructive comments only) and leave my signature. This actually takes lots and lots of man hours and patients. This was one of the most effective ways which I found out among these 5 ways of driving traffic to my website.

3. Leaving comments in other blogger blog. I made a list of 100 top blogs from technorati about online business and other related topics. I visited every blog and left at least few long and constructive comments in few of their posts. Since they have high traffic pouring to their blogs, I noticed that I started to have some good amount of traffic from their readers too. The longer and more informative my comment, the better was the results.

4. Yahoo Answer - this is one of the place where you should go and promote your page. You will notice that many people mainly answers a question by asking the person who asked the question to either buy an ebook or some sort of monetary effect towards to person. This is selling and people who asked a question most of the time is expecting an answer and not wanting to listen for a promotional talk. What I did was, I provided good and reliable sources where they could answers. I explain to them my answers and asked them to visit my website for further details. I made it clear I was not selling anything, except for a visit by them to my website. This really worked for me.

I made sure that for almost a month, I will answers at least 5 questions a day relating to topics which is related to the same topic as my website. Answering the question too had to be the right way with certain keywords inserted within the answers.

5. Forums - I answered few questions a day from few forums communities. I made clear that my answers were very informative and I gave the most information as possible. This made many readers wondering who I am and started to visit my website. I know it is easy to just talk and talk rubbish in forums, but if you have an agenda of attracting traffic to your website, you need to focus your answers and provide a good answer.

Effect To My Website

1. My traffic count almost doubled. I had major increase in traffic when I had my download page, where it almost doubled. But the figure reduced later. This time, the increase seems to be more stable and actually increasing.

2. Increase in my affiliate sales about 20%. I need to check this why it is not as high as the increase in my traffic, but any increase is better than nothing.

3. This is my favorite - increase in Google Adsense revenue by 65%! Wow, this has shocked me and gave me more motivation. I could not belief it is happening and I heard other webmasters talking about it before, but I only could felt it when it is happening to me.

Cost For Doing All This Marketing

1. In term of $$, not a single cent. May be I smoked more and burn some money while writing and promoting my website.

2. Human cost - sore as* ... for sitting for hours and lack of sleep .

3. Total time taken to do all this - two months.

Hope this will help other to improve their website and income. Cheers...

Great post and inspirational to those starting out in need of that traffic. I do all of the above (well not so much article marketing as I used to) and I must say it really does have an impact on your traffic in the long-run if you keep it up.

Congrats on your success. A 65% increase in Google revenue is nothing to sneeze at. Way to go!

Good Post. I post in a very busy forum related to my niche every day, it is a major source of my traffic, referers range from 30-100+, depending on how much I post. They are all very targeted visitors too and seem to like adsense.

Eventually, I would like to create a forum, but I suspect I would need more visitors than I am currently getting for it to work. My SE traffic is increasing very slowly and I was thinking about doing some videos on youtube to promote my site.

I've done about 7 articles so far. I will check out yahoo answers!

Hadn't thought of that one...sounds good. The Yahoo answers thing I've been experimenting with and did get a few.

Which article directories get you traffic? I get most of my success from ezines and goarticles. The other 5 directories got me nothing.

Great post!

Great tips and 'yes' they do work.

One more point to add is that you need to consistently doing all those until you have reach a state where you have out rank everyone in your niche and you become the leader or reference site. You will notice your community can grow by itself (word of mouth etc.) when you become the reference site in your niche, don't stop before reaching this stage otherwise your competitors will sneak in and take your place.

Also, you should always 'listen' to your visitors and community members, what are they looking for and if you have provided enough to cover the subject ? make sure you have them well served and they will reward you for the hard work done (i.e. returning visits, refer friends etc.)

Default Great Post rahmanalwi

I think it should be "stickied" on this forum. How bout it Lisa?

Your tips are almost exactly what I've been doing. It really does work.

Right now traffic to my main garden site has almost tripled in the last few months.

The only problem I have are ideas? Sometimes I sit in front of the computer with a blank stare and no ideas!
