Traffic Swarm?

I went to Lisa's site yesterday and I stumbled upon something called traffic swarm. I kind of got the idea of how that works but not really. Can someone fill me in on how this process works?

I have been dominated by other tennis blogs and websites because they are established. But occasional I get ranked at the top for certain stories. I obviously need more traffic.

Hi jay144,

I wouldn't recommend this service for most people, which is why I have a big disclaimer on the page. I was able to do well with TrafficSwarm (and use it to promote this forum) because I have a site that gets a lot of traffic from webmasters. Most viral traffic programs produce very few little results. But a lot of people were finding this forum from Traffic Swarm so I left my account up. I don't actively promote this service anymore.

Basically how it works is any time you recruit someone to traffic swarm or you visit another member's site you get credits. Every time you earn a credit, your site is displayed throughout the network. So the more credits you earn the more site displays you receive. I have a BOAT LOAD of credits because I get traffic from a lot of webmaster sites and it's helped me draw traffic and sign ups to this forum. Again, not recommended for most sites. The only reason I still have that page up is because I am still signing up forum members from that service, but I never promote it other than that article on my site.

It is sincere answers like that which I believe shows a persons character. One more reason why this is my favorite forum.

Traffic Swarm is a traffic exchange online. Their main goal is to give free targeted traffic to your website and promote any website. I see no gain in these scheme.

To be honest I have really some misgivings about the possible impacts of this technique known as Traffic Swarm. If I got it right, it is an artificial way of getting traffic which is not desirable for any company as it will never be able to convert any of them.

Yeah. Artificial traffic has no use at all.

It's not artificial. It's just not very useful or targeted, and most people that are visiting your site are just visiting to earn their own credits. They don't really care about your content. For the most part it's best to stay away from viral traffic programs. As I said, my situation was very unique and I did sign up people to this forum from TS. That's the only reason I left my account up. I just don't actively promote it nor recommend it.
