There are a handful of people here doing this fulltime. Hopefully they'll chime in. But there are also even more people here who may not make a full-time living but they make a very good side income with their websites. Don't give up. Have you ever thought of doing drawing tutorials on YouTube with screencast recording software?

Go to www.techsmith.com and download a free 30 day trial of Camtasia. I don't know if you've seen any of my screen recording vids where I am moving around my screen and talking? That's what I'm using. It's great for tutorial type vids on your computer.

Keep the picture you love, maybe just add a few more to get people curious. Being an artist myself, I know I am drawn to vibrant, colorful sites with lots of pictures and examples. And free stuff, or interactivity. This is one of my favorite sites for tutorials: http://www.webdesignerwall.com/

You know, I almost always look for open source software. There's a screen capture software called CamStudio which is FREE at http://camstudio.org/. You can download it from there or go directly to http://sourceforge.net/projects/camstudio/ which is where a lot of open source can be found. Sourceforge is a trusted site and for me, it's one of the few sites from which I will download anything.

If people are making money online, unless they are in internet marketing themselves it's not in their interest to blag about the sums they make - they'd be better off using that time developing their businesses.

If you want to get an idea of what the "noisy lot" are saying they earn, then you could have a browse around DigitalPoint forums (largest forum online by members/posts), SitePoint, Warrior Forums - the discussion is a often 'blind-leading-blind' but there are some really good threads to follow, especially on Sitepoint.

People can make decent money 'flipping' websites. The term is coined from the real estate industry where traders would renovate and sell housing. Essentially you buy a failing/cheap website, do-it-up and sell it on. The idea is you capitalize on that websites value (projected profits and assets) instantaneously with the sale and so you can grow income very quickly. The trick is in adding value in the most efficient manner.

Default demo your website

Making some videos to show you website can be a good idea. That can increase the exposure of your website and drive more traffic to you websites. Camtasia is a greate tool to create demo videos. If you will publish the demo as Flash movie, then some clickable button and be added to direct user to your website. In that case, screen recorder like DemoCreator or DemoBuilder would be good.

There are hundreds of sites that earn a good amount of money online.

The average site takes 6-12 months to start seeing good revenue, and some even take years. Making money online also depends on the techniques you use to make them and how experienced you are in the Niche you are going in etc.

In basically echoing Rammuny's post (because he said it first ), it's about finding that Niche... and not only finding it, but grinding it and letting that niche know you exist... and not only exist, but also trustworthy and liked. At least that's what I'm learning in my travels. Like any other business, it's serious business. "Ain't a dang thing funny in this land of milk and honey."

To be honest, I have no clue what the site is all about apart from the fact that it has some nice pictures on it. Are you trying to sell your services? Are you selling products as part of an affiliate program?

I would also take the Google Adsense off the site or make it less out front. After the first image, there's a big block of Adsense which showcases your competitors and is very easy to click on...then your surfers are gone. If the site is just to have people click on your Adsense ads then fine...but if you are trying to get them to do something else, then get rid of it.

And as mentioned, there's nothing right away that tells visitors what to do. If I came on your site as an interested surfer, I wouldn't know what you want me to do and I would click to another site or exit your site completely. I'm not trying to be harsh, but you need to guide your visitors to a call to action. They need to immediately know what to do. Remember, you have like three seconds to make an impact on the surfer...and I'm not feeling that when I land on your site.

Then there's the question of SEO, which I find can be really detrimental to your site.

And one last thing, which may be just as important, create a blog on wordpress under your domain name and use that as a way to generate traffic as well. The blog on your site now is actually not really a blog. Take a look at Lisa's Blog to get a sense of what I mean.

Take care and all the best.

I have two blogs, it took about a year but they are now both getting about 200 to 300 visitors a day. I have it monitized with google and clickbank and I am "now" doing pretty well, usually $150 to $200 a day except on weekends, I hardly make anything on sat and sun.

If you have been online with that website as long as you said, then the first thing I would look at is your traffic stats. How many visitors are you getting each day?
