What do I have to do to make adsense stop advertising 'horses?' I know it's getting that from the name of my site, but there's not a word about horses in any of my content where the ads are located.

Hmmm... yeah your domain name is probably a big trigger. Try taking the title out of your <title> tag on every page. Not only does that confuse Google, but it would also dilute your rankings if you're trying to rank high for keywords you write about.

Since your domain name has keywords that can throw the engines (and AdSense) off, it's best to only put the keywords you are trying to rank for in your <title> tag on every page. In other words, only put the descriptive title of the page and leave out the title of your site.

Honestly, I don't know how to access those html pages. I'm using a WP theme and it appears all I have are php pages, and I don't know php.

Today's ads are right on!

You should not need to access the php pages
All i think you need to do is go to your posts edit them
and in the bottom of the page change these to show the titles you want for each page

Body Title
Meta Title
Meta Keywords
Meta Description

There are dozens of ways to make money with a website. Many have been listed here in this thread while others can be found by searching this forum or in Google. Adsense can be a nice stream of income of you do it right.

There are many factors that determine how well your adsense income generates. First, you will have to target high paying keywords. Don't mess around with keywords that only pay less than $1.00. There are many high paying keyword lists circulating on the internet.

Secondly, you will have to have your website/blog optimized to generate adsense income. This means startegically palcing ad units in places on your site that are known for getting high click-throughs.

Third, you will have to have lots of traffic going to your site. This can best be accomplished by targeting keyword phrases that are somewhat easy to rank high for. Fourth and finally, you will have to create multiple sites. This part is not hard. If you are good at using wordpress, then you can set up a blog in less than one hour. Other options include using free sites and places that give you a free presence online such as hubpages and others. Hope this helps.
