Question Money via surveys?

Hello, my name is Jer. I am a 17 year old boy looking for a way to make money online.

I have noticed that there are many sites that claim you can earn from $5-$35 for completing a survey. They generally ask for about $50 to purchase their guide to learn how to do this. I assume these are all scams, but does anyone know for sure if they are?

I considered trying Google Cash but soon realized that almost all of these guides are scams. The one I was considering charged $2.49 for a guide, but when I read the terms and conditions I noticed that that was simply for a "14 day trial period" then they charged you a nonrefundable $150 followed by $40 monthly payments after that. I don't doubt that you can make money through Google via adword or whatever that program is but that requires you to have a website. That is the reason I was interested in completing surveys for money.

I would like to find a simple online job, I was interested in Elance simply because it is straightforward in that you work and you get paid. The con is that I am not qualified for most of the jobs offered on that website. Most require an experienced programmer and I am at most a beginner.

I am competent to the basic use of a computer(as I said I don't know a lot about programming) and can type somewhere from 50-100 wpm. I don't give up easily and learn quickly. If anyone knows of an online employer looking for such an employee could you please direct me to him? =P

I have considered making a website as lisa instructed, but I don't think that is what I am best suited for. I do have a question however. If, for example, I were to make a website containing recipes, can I use recipes I found on other websites? Or is that plagiarism? Do I ask permission from those websites to use their recipes? Is it a better idea to simply do my own research?(I have very limited resources) Is it plagiarism only if it a unique recipe?(For example there's probably thousands of the same recipe for chocolate chip cookies so if I post that recipe it isn't plagiarism right?)

I forgot to mention that (I think) I would make a pretty good editor. Is there online editing jobs?

Anyways, I prefer not to make a website so if anyone knows of other available online jobs could you please point me in the right direction? I really have no idea how to tell if a job is a scam or not so I am just too scared to try any of them.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Jer

I think copying off other sites is a risky business.

BTW, as you are looking for online work, you can make money writing reviews at http://www.ciaoreviews.co.nr . I've used that site before it's quite reliable.

I would never suggest surveys, they usually sucker you in and then scam you by asking for money. Making money online with ways like that are WAY TOO RISKY. You say your a good editor ehhhh........ check out Audreys website. She runs a website to help people write and she edits documents people send into her. Check out her video on Youtube!

You can read messages or rental potential and make the switch to cash. However no money is made all the easier.

I have worked for as a research specialist in one of the top three research firms in the US for over a year. I once was assigned to a project that calls respondents from all over the country to participate in the online survey if completed they will be paid a minimum of five dollars depending on the length of the survey. I think it was opinionoutpost.

You're not going to make much money doing surveys. Most of them don't pay out what they say they pay out, and they all want real contact information. If you're going to be faking someone's name, then you're not going to get any money from it. I tried it one time, but didn't get involved much longer. I didn't want to use my real name and address for surveys. It's not good to have your name and address sent out to hundreds of different companies.
