Default who is making $$$ online? how are they doing? how long did it take to make $$$?

1. Who here is comfortably living off their internet income?

2. How did you get to this point? i.e what did you do to get to this point? websites (selling information or hard goods), online promotions (adwords, etc) or something else?

3. How long did it take you to make internet your full time income source? I suppose some of you probably still work full time and enjoy the extra cash on the side

I have been exposed to the internet since '98. It was not until last year i found about internet being an income source for so many people. I didn't know how people did it. Then, I stumbled upon Lisa's site and forum and found out how people do it by selling free information on their site and earning commission from running related advertisement on their site.

How many here have a successful information site from which you're earning comfortably?

I wanna start this thread for motivational purpose. I know a lot of people are struggling like myself. But then again we haven't' been in the game for long enough comparing to experts and may lack the necessary experience to get that point in short time as we expect. This thread may bring the experts to share their experience so beginners like us have something to chew upon and feel optimistic about.

So let's hear it

Webdev, this is a great thread, I just wonder how many responses you'll get due to the nature of this forum. Most people that come here are newbies and/or just starting out with their sites, but hopefully this will attract other successful Net Marketers. We'll see!

I won't bore everyone with my story again. I think folks have read and are probably tired of hearing about it.

Me too....

Currently, I make enough to pay my hosting, buy / renew my domains, pay my Internet bill. Currently, these are all that matter...

I just start last month, so I can't even pay one bill. Ask me again in a year and we'll see where I am by then.

Thumbs up Making $$$ online

This is a good topic. I think this question is there in almost everyone's mind except the few who have succeeded. I have a doubt about those who succeeded whether they will come to this forum to discuss their strategies. I have my website running for 1 year and 5 months now selling website templates. But I will not say that I get a 'comfortable' income from the site. However, I heard from some others who sell templates that they make not $$$ but $$$$ or even $$$$$ per month. I think the success depends on increasing the number of targeted visitors.

I agree this is a good topic.

My incomplete website's been around for around two months. I made only 1.35$ from adsense!

webbozz, you put it right. that's all it comes down to. Exposing your site to more targeted visitors. But sometimes that still doesn't gureentee sales.

One of the strategies i'm using to increase my targeted visitors is by submitting my pages to php realated websites. There are tons of free resources tutorials websites where you can submit links. These websites just contain links to other sites with related content/information/tutorials.

Yesterday i got 70 visits from a site called tutorialized.com where i submitted one of my tutorial pages.

But the traffic doesn't last for too long. You need to keep submitting new material to keep your visitors count. But by doing this i hope i get mroe targeted traffic from google by increasing my inbound links from other sites.

yea, and the bounce rate was really low because of targeted traffic. The reason for high visit count may have also to do with the topic of the tutorial because i know the topic of AJAX is in interest to almost all web developers.

Haha, I've read it probably a dozen times and every time it is an encouragement to keep on trying.

I make a stable monthly income that pays my bills but it hasn't been without hard work.

Like most people I started off knowing zero about the on-line world and having zero bank balance. I discovered the topic of Adsense and affiliate programs and stated to take up on the subject. I learned HTML, CSS and SEO to a degree that would get me good results.

On the launch of my first site it had about 30 or so pages and started to rank really well on Google within about 4 months. After the climb in ranks the traffic climbed and so did the profits. It wasn't until the 6th month that I hit the $100 bridge - for those that know that bridge can seem very distant.

I wasn't satisfied in trying to make millions on one site alone so I built another. This time my niche was something that I knew a lot of, had a big demand but would also pay nicely. After a while the traffic started coming in and the my earning went up again. I was amazed at how easy a web page could make money but there again I did put a lot of sweat into my content.

It didn't take me long to learn about blogs and the power behind them and of course I had to go launch 5 (at different times). They covered a range of topics and ranked well within the Search Engines. All earnings came from Adsense and some via Amazon.

Right now I have a number of sites and blogs under my name with each one bringing in a nice monthly sum. The last site I've launched is solely to work with PPC and an affiliate program.
