Default How can I improve?

One of the things which is starting to bug me is this. My Best Poker Books is now on the FIRST page of Google. I notice I'm getting traffic but there are no clicks.

Would someone who knows more about this than I do please advise what I can do to improve my conversion rate? Do you think the "Amazon Buy Now" button could be a problem? Any advice would be appreciated.

Default Amazon doesn't hurt

Hard for me to say what may be your problem, but I serious doubt it has anything to do with Amazon. I feel personally that the Amazon connection is a plus.

To illustrate the advantage. I have purchased several Sitepoint books (they have all been excellent by the way). In every case I have not purchased from them but left their site and went to Amazon to buy. It is hard to ignore the Amazon price advantage.

On the other hand, I have purchased other books on individual sites that still had people buying through Amazon.

James thank you. Well then is there anything I can do to help the click through rate? I mean looking at the page I believe I've done everything I know to do. Perhaps I'm overlooking something.

bigtunafan,

It could be many things, but here are few ideas to think about:

1. How many visits are getting per day? It could be just an issue of numbers, i.e. are you getting enough visitors to come across buyers?

2. What keywords are you ranking for? Are the keywords you're ranking well for attract a hungry enough crowd who are willing to spend money? While the books you recommend may be exactly what these people are looking for, they may not be willing to pay for this... so they may be just looking for free information.

3. I would guess most people who want to learn the poker game, it would be more fun for them to play with someone they know and learn it from practice, not through reading a book. However, I am 100% sure that there are people who would want to buy these books... I would do research to figure out who these people are, why they buy these books, and what pushes their buttons.

Hope all this makes sense. If not, I would be happy to elaborate/clarify.

Sherif

To answer this specific question, this is what I would do:

1. narrow down the list to the top 4 or 5 books at most.

2. break up the reviews into smaller paragraphs

3. introduce some rating system, i.e. the first review would be the most recommended, and why, etc.

4. I would make the title a bit more eye-catching, i.e. something that would intrigue someone who would be interested in learning poker.

I would start there and see how these changes improve the performance.

Hope this helps.
