Post How to make money online.

Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I am still in the process of learning and I was overwhelmed after visiting this site. This is really an honest effort by Lisa who has created such a beautiful website with tonnes of information in it. I really found it very very interesting. I am still confused as how will people come to know whether my website id authentic or not. Who gives the certification to websites for their authenticity. How will people believe on my website. This is my major concern. Lisa, if you could help me.

People will know you are authentic when you are authentic. You will prove yourself by the quality of your work.

The reason Lisa has a reputation for being real is because she is real. You need to be the same. Don't try to be her or be anyone but yourself.

There are organizations that certify people to be this or that, but it means little to most people. They see you for what you are. Just be yourself and be proud of what you are without pretense. You will do well.

Good advice, James. That's why it's so important to choose a topic you are interested in. As you build content and educate/help people you will build credibility. This credibility is what you need to get people to buy products so you can make money. It takes time but the first step is to think long and hard about what you want to build your site about. Don't worry about the money in the beginning. Focus on what you feel you'd like to write about and the money will come as a result of loving what you do.

Smile Hi

Hi James,

Thank you very much for your advice. I have always followed truth and I would prefer to die before lying. I cannot make you believe just by writing that but I hope we can have long term friendship through this forum and we can help people live happily throughout the world. I think this is the only way I can prove myself. I want to do the same through my website. Money is just the other thing I need to help people who do hard word but lack capital and opportunity. As you know that there is too much potential in India but due to lack of capital and opportunity, we loose them in the long run. I want to earn and help others grow. I would like to give it a try. GOD has given me enough to live happily but when I see my fellow countrymen fighting to survive, I become sad. I cannot take charge of the whole country but at least I can take care of few people in my so called Silicon Valley City (Bangalore). If I could change even 10 peoples' life, I would die peacefully. Wish I had more time in life!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, as far as my website is concerned, I would like to build a website where people could find daily life stuffs like grocery, medical stores, hotels and restaurants, floweriest etc. in Bangalore. How do I proceed?

Hi Shiburai

First of all you might want to do some keyword searches to see what people are searching for. There are many keyword tools out there. I use the AdWords Keywords Tool when I want to look this up.
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Put in some search terms that you would like to be found for. You will get an idea of how competitive and popular these terms are.

Once you've determined a topic, you need a web host and domain name. Lots of people here use GoDaddy.com but there are many others. You'll also probably want a Web editor to build your pages unless you want to code HTML from scratch. Komposer and Nvu are both free to use. I use Dreamweaver. It's not free but one of the better editors out there.

The best advice I can give is to just get out here and start feeling your way around and learning the ropes. www.w3schools.com is a great site to go if you want to learn the basics of CSS and HTML. You don't have to become a pro to succeed but you should learn the fundamentals.

Default You will achieve what you desire.

Shiburai

Lisa has good advice on her 2createawebsite.com website and here. There are a couple of other thoughts to keep in mind. If you do you cannot fail to reach your goal.

First, remember the words of one of America's presidents (if you don't mind the reference). When someone asked Abraham Lincoln what was the best way to help the poor, he answered, "Don't become one of them."

Learn how to live successfully yourself so that you will be sharing your own real experience with others who need help. As you write about the subjects you identified you want to be able to teach out of your experience, not just hand me down information. That is one thing that will make you genuine in the eyes of those you want to help.

Second, if you really want to help, keep you eyes on helping people help themselves. You can give someone a little money which achieves some good, but if you can give him the right information it will continue to help him forever.

Then, as Lisa suggests, just be patient as you learn. It takes a while, but if you do a little each day to learn how to build the websites (html, css, etc.) and a little to gather information and write what you can publish, soon you will have prepared yourself pretty well.

It is better to make websites based on some quality content and get some good SEO strategies in place so that we get some real interested people to our sites.

Some really great advice in this post. A really good read. Lisa have you ever thought of taking some of these post and making a Tips and Techniques area? Many of these post are wonderful bits of jewels that would make an excellent Tips area if they were put together. Just a thought.
