Making A Living Online

I was just curious. Is it possible to make a living off of just one website with google adsense alone or is there other things you have to do to make a living online. I ask because usually it seems that the most people are making money from there websites are 800 dollars a month from their google adsense checks. The people who are making 800 dollars a month are also stating that they quit their jobs to work online. Are they making other moves online to make money that I'm not aware of besides just advertising because I'm confused?

I would hope they are making money off more than just Google AdSense because $800/month is not enough of a cushion as far as I'm concerned.

Just like stocks, you need to diversify your income portfolio. I didn't quit my job until I had more than tripled my regular 9 to 5 salary. While AdSense is a nice contributor to my income, it's certainly not the only thing. I belong to 15-20 different programs and a few of them pay lifetime residuals so even if my sites died today, I'd still earn from my existing customer base.

I've read so many horror stories of people quitting their jobs when they matched their 9 to 5 salary. That's too risky. I waited at least 2-3 years even after I matched my salary because I wanted to make sure I had enough of a cushion and residual income coming in before calling it quits.

What programs are you referring to if you don't mind me asking?

These are programs that pay you for multiple transactions from the same customers. For example I'm a domain name and web hosting reseller (that's why I push websitepalace.com) so I earn a commission for every customer that signs up for hosting and domains. So as each customer renews their hosting every month, year, etc. I continue to earn a commission on each transaction.

I usually try to find residual programs that fit into my niche. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of good ones out there. You can go to www.lifetimecommissions.com to research more.

Surely you can make a living with one site and using Google adsense as a way to make money. There are some bloggers are able to make thousands of dollars per month using Google adsense only
