setting up an llc for a forum

Hi everyone,

I recently started a web forum, and have since found out that there is a print magazine put out by a publishing company, that has the same name as my domain. I was thinking of setting up an llc to protect myself from any legal entanglements, as the site owner, from copyright infringement. Without getting to specific, the name of the magazine ends in a plural, and my domain is singular, but the words otherwise are the same. Does anyone have any experience with anything like this, or anything to look out for legalwise, as a site owner?

No i don't think so. I set up an llc after reading llc's for dummies (you know the yellow books). It was pretty simple to do. It cost about 99 for a registered agent and then 125 to file the papers with the state (differs from state to state) Since it is an internet biz I would suggest filing in Nevada (no taxes) and since it's on the internet you can file in any state (as long as your registered agent is in that state) I think I got my agent at myllc. then just go through the process.
