Hi all,

The person who created two websites for me has flown the coup with the user names and passwords. I have been trying for a year to contact him with no luck. I know someone else who has gotten a couple of texts from him, so I know he's still alive. My question is, if I can somehow get him to sell me the domain names, can I recreate the websites and override the old sites? I can't update or do anything with the existing sites.

I am paying for one of the sites, but the company I'm paying, says the site is hosted elsewhere and I have to contact the developer to do anything.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If I want to keep my domain name forever, so that no one else use it even if for some reason my website is temporarily inactive for whatever reason, how do I make sure that when I go back, make that website active or to build another website I can use that same domain name if I want to? In other words, how do I make my domain name unavailable as long as possible?:concern:

I bought a domain name at name cheap. I moved one of my website to this domain name and the new domain name never appeared in google.

Then, later on, in webmaster tools, i had hundreds of 404 pages in crawl error section. I submitted my domain to the reconsideration request team from Google. They told me that i "had to delete pages" that were spammy.

I understood that this particular domain name was owned by a spammer. I moved my website to another domain name and it appeared again in the google results.

Later on, Matt Cutts talked about it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=lGUw9oS5csI

Talking about the matt Cutts speech. I d like to say i had no way to know i was buying a penalized domain name at namecheap. Furthermore, Google did not flush the spammy pages in its index when the domain name was on sale at name cheap. (with a purchasing page). It took 4 months for the spammy pages to be flushed in the "google crawl errors" from Google webmaster tools.

I know now it is good to check it a archive.orgfirst to know how the previous website looked like under this domain name.

Take care!

Hi,
I want to open a science and technology multiuser blog with the TLD of my country.
So, a whole lot of domain names are available and I don't know which to choose.
My thoughts: techpost, technews, technotes, techblog etc? (I like the word 'tech' :))
The leader in this criteria is, techtunes (an established local site)
I also thought of easy to remember short domain names like 'pen'.
Do you have any suggestion? Don't worry about the availability, Most of the words are available including dictionary words.
Thanks.

Does anyone know when the new domain name suffixes will be on sale?
Maybe like me you have found some good domains but they are all being sat on by d-name brokers. They wanted to sell my a domain name for $5,000, that had no PR or listing. I'll past.

This website business is getting tougher by the hour.

I see lots of people talking about what is the best domain registration company but the way I look at it is there are only 2 variables... Safety and price. And I guess for most people the first one is not optional, the site MUST be safe for us to use... so only thing to consider is price. So I want to ask...

Which is the cheapest website to register with (including promos) that is of course safe as well??
