Google to Permanently Ban AdWords Scammers

Finally, Google is taking serious action to clean up AdWords.Google reportedly cleaned house in October, although their statements were few and undefinitive. However, Google is making another hard push to get scammers and spammers kicked off AdWords, and Nick Fox, Google’s Business Product Management Director for AdWords has told Search Enghine Round Table that there are new changes coming and advertisers will be banned for breaking rules. Google will begin permanently banning advertisers at the account level, meaning these advertisers will be permanently banned, and their account and any new account will be banned from participating in AdWords.
give your opinion about this?

Lessons Learned: Google Adwords - Lost Around $350

Hello everyone,

I just finished a Google Adwords campaign. I wasn't expecting to make money with it, but I was hoping to not lose nearly as much money as I have.

I ran about a 10-day campaign with Google Adwords, where I spent about $380. Yes, I did set a maximum amount spent per day and a maximum click-thru rate. I was promoting my "How To Speed Up A Slow Computer", which is a very competitive niche, so my average click-thru rate was around $1.70.

I ended up making one affiliate sale, where I make just under $20 and a dollar value even less than that with Google Adwords.

All in all, I have lost around $350 - no small change with me. It has come to my mind many times that SBI costs $50 less than what I have spent in Google Adwords alone. I signed up for SBI, but got thinking I could do just as well on my own and that I could save the $300, so I asked for a refund.

The reason why I chose to spend money on this particular page of my website is that I truly believed that this page has monetization potential if it gets the right amount of directed traffic.

One thing I did learn is that when I replaced my text advertisements with a short endorsement on the product with banners my click thru rate substantially decreased.

I don't know if I want to go that route though. I have a "Free Internet Software Page" which surprisingly doesn't get a lot of traffic. I have added a two or three 30-day trials for Internet security software within the 100 % free Internet security software.

I think I'm going to try the route of linking people to my Free Internet Security Software page. ie. free disk deleting software.

Also, I need to return my focus to provide good, unique, high quality content. I think in the last month or so I've somehow lost myself along the way in doing this. I highly believe what I think Lisa says..."Don't put the cart before the horse...content first...monetization later."

I highly believe in Ken Envoy's process of Content-Traffic-Presale-Monetization". I think I've tried to jump from Content to Monetization, skipping the middle two steps.

Anyways, just wanted to share this with everyone. This post has turned out longer than I thought. Might submit it as a post on my blog.

If you read this far, thank you for taking the time to read my post. Have a great week everyone!
