I am EXTREMELY wishy washy about Facebook Ads, I even posted a babble here about how the traffic has been proven to be 80% bots! Here I am again wanting to try it yet AGAIN lol. Last time I was targeting "Business Owners" and that's it, on a national level. We are a SEO company and sell mainly Link Building Packages and On Page SEO Services, what kind of "Targets" should I get? Who needs SEO? I know I can narrow it down more then just "Business Owners" Any help will be greatly appreciated!

At least that's what I am hearing, article after article about how your Facebook Ad is clicked by 80% bots, AND YOU'RE PAYING FOR IT!

Here is the article that got me going:

searchenginewatch.com/article/2197903/Facebook-Ads-80-Bot-Claim-Examined-Why-You-Shouldnt-Lose-Faith-Just-Yet

That next article says a company "Limited Run" tested it on their own and found the same findings!

I saw plenty of research done by other companies to warrant me to stop my Facebook Ads. What prompted me to research and post about it in my (favoritest) forum ever? Long story short, I gave up on Facebook Ads awhile ago, but recently saw a post about them on here and it inspired me to make another one. I did, and it was terrible! We used to specialize in PPC ads so creating an awesome ad was no problem. We got lots of impressions, and tons of clicks....except the clicks looked shady! I got 30 clicks one day for my ad, those 30 clicks were tracked on my Olark account in real time. NONE of them had Facebook in the referred section, and they didn't even goto my money site subpage, you know, the one my Ad was linked to, instead they went to my home page, stayed on for 1 second each and left. Those 30 clicks then showed up in my Ads manager as served clicks that I owed on.

I am also hearing about how they send spammy looking profiles to "Like" your page when your ad is set to get "Likes" rather then website views. This makes sense, awhile back I ran tons of Facebook Ads to gather "Likes" on my Facebook Page, I have gone and looked at the "Likes" and they look like they were purchased on Fiverr! What is going on?!?!!

I am wondering this as I had enabled text and image ads but found he the image ads looked like they were not meant to be clicked.

I am mainly a hobby website just hoping to cover costs but of course would be happy if I did better than that.

I changed the image and text ads back to just texts as my site is still very new and if no one knows to click on the images this would not generate any revenue for me to help cover costs.

I discovered this great article in my LinkedIn network. I have played with Facebook advertising in the past but with limited results. I may try it again in the future once I have a budget set aside. Some of the other PPC networks sound interesting but I still wonder if there are cheap clicks to be had through AdWords.

It surprises me that the article did not mention Yahoo or Bing PPC ads.

For targeting local audience I wanted to give a facebook ad. But the minimum budget was 69 USD for impression ads. But I wanted to start with a smaller budget to see the response.
Another option is, promoting a post or status in a facebook page, which takes 5 dollar. But I have not created any page for the service that I want to sell. Besides, it would require lots of likes to target friends of the fans who liked the page.
Is there any PPC option in facebook?
