Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to clutter a page choc full of ads so just hear me out.

My situation is this, on most of my pages, I have two ads (Adsense); one vertical image in the right column and another horizonal image banner within my page. The right image banner recieves more impressions and has recieved more clicks than the horizontal ad.

I was thinking to remove the horizontal ad and leave the right banner but overall when clicks aren't happening they both provide revenue by means of impressions.

My food for thought to you all is this, would taking out the horizontal ad hurt my revenue stream judging by the statistics given above. It is a little early in the game for me to be asking as traffic is still a factor for my site but overall I kind of wanted to provide a site clutter free with minimal ads but yet providing each page with some sort of advertisements to gain revenue.

What do you all think?

To many sick people at my job have made me sick! :confused:So I set up my account and I got two codes. one to search results and search box code. I put the search box code into my text document and nothing happened. I put the other code in and it shows google searrch content but I see no ads. Do I need to do something else for the ads to show? I have read about 10 pages into this forum and have not found my answer. Tommorrow I will surf through the help section for google. I don't dare put the coding in my header.php or footer.php as I use wordpress. I did that before when I was first building the site and messed it up so bad so i will just paste it into my text.

Finally did it today. One question though. For some reason when I tried to sign up my google account wouldn't register when I put it in for existing account so I made a new Google login. Does this mean that it made me a new account entirely or just a login for the adsense? The reason I ask is that on my old account I had all of my webmaster tools, sitemap, etc. Would I have to shift these to this new username and will it affect my account getting accepted?

Thanks

As I am going to be applying for Adsense tomorrow I have been looking for some last minute information. One of my inquiries was of how to rotect your Adsnese code from people stealing it and putting it on their sites. Mainly in the case of trying to get you in trouble.

I found this article on a blog:
http://www.neilshearing.com/2008/10/30/phantom-adsense-cash-is-it-a-good-thing/

Just wanted to post because I figured some people might not know about this feature.

I am relaunching my web-site at the end of the week. The new site will be in Joomla. However, the biggest difference is that while my entire site was previously devoted to wood pellets, I am now adding Pellet stoves in an entirely different section.

The question is there a way to get Adsense ads separately for my pellet pages and my pellet stove pages?

Thanks,

Seth

current site: www.WoodPelletPrice.com
new site: http://broome.directrouter.com/~woodpell

I am currently setting up my basic template in dreamweaver and will later be adding Google Adsense ads on the right side of the website home page.

Do I need to create a 3 column template (with the Adsense having its own column?) or can I create just a 2 column template and insert the Adsense ads to the right of the main content?

Thanks for any help!

I was reading through the Google Adsense Policy looking for how many ad units can be displayed per page. I was under the impression that it was only three until I saw a website sporting 4 ads per page.

Heres the policy:
https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=48182&gsessionid=k7X17COWGbmNWdsSsSP31Q

Heres the line:
AdSense for content: Up to three ad units and three link units may be placed on each page.

To make sure that I am reading this right here is how I understand it. You can have up to 3 banners (anything but text) and 3 text links (text only) for a total of 6 ad units per page? It seems self explanitory but I had always heard 3 and didn't want to screw up cuz I misunderstood. It's never good to tick off Google.

I wanted to let everyone know that Google approved my site today. I am very excited as I am a newbie at this and just started learning HTML and CSS about 3 months ago. I had no idea how to get a website, what a domain name was or anything. I just had an idea, wanted to learn, was willing to work hard and wanted to make money for myself. I bought books, surfed the net, stayed up late, abused my jobs printer lol and started. I attribute my recent success to Lisa and everyone who assisted me on this forum by responding to my threats or putting out so much helpful information. I have attempted to do a lot of things that were on this site and it has paid off. Although lots of you here are way ahead of me in this internet thing, I am very happy with this samll accomplishment today. For all the other newbies out there, you can get there with hard work, smart work, getting mentors who help you and are not afraid to share like the people on this board. You can also start while working a job which I was full time and still carved out time to learn, mess up and get it right. The road map is here for you if you pick a good niche. This is a thank you to everyone and I hope to continue to be able to add to this site and get advice as well.

I will soon be applying for my adsense account as my 18th birthday is rapidly approaching. I was looking at the Sign Up form the other day to make sure that everything was in good shape. While looking through the policy I saw that Google would like for you to provide a sitemap. Is this necessary in order to be approved/keep your account? Also, when you apply how long does it take to find out if you were approved?

Thanks

What is the most popular/best way of advertising? Is it Adbrite? I had Adbrite on my free blog before I switched over to having my own blog on Wordpress but it didn't seem to put up ads that were relevant to my site. You'd think that would be automatic.
