This is from a fellow blogger(My Saving Game), I've gotten to know over this past year. She had a guest blogger, a mommy blogger, who has a rocking hot(traffic) blog. I will be following some of her tips to get sponsors.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to find sponsors for a giveaway (guest post)

Hey guys! Jeanette is my guest poster again this week! She has a wealth of info to share! She is awesome at this stuff! Check out how she got so many followers so fast!
Thank you Jeanette!

How to Find Sponsors for A Giveaway
So, you’ve signed up for a great giveaway event but now what? Finding sponsors for a giveaway or an event can be a daunting task. Especially if you have not done it before. Take a deep breath though. It’s not as hard as it seems if you do it right! The key to successfully getting a sponsor to participate in a giveaway or an event is being prepared. Know the dos and don’ts. Here’s an easy guide to help you get started.

The Dos of Finding a Sponsor
Do familiarize yourself with the sponsor before sending them a letter.
Do try to use the owner or CEO’s name. If you search for it you can most likely find it!
Do tell them what you like about their shop or company. Flattery will get you everywhere!
Do tell them what you can do for them. Include stats; page views, followers, page rank, ect.
Do brag about yourself and your blog. Now is not the time to be modest.

The Don’ts of Finding a Sponsor
Don’t send a generic letter.
Don’t send a pitch to a store or company whose products you don’t like – it will show through.
Don’t lack confidence! Believing in yourself with make the company believe in you!
Don’t beg – state your intent and the benefits of participation but don’t beg!
Don’t get discouraged if you hear no.

Pretty straight forward right? Well, not really. Each sponsor requires a different approach. Once you have sent out about a dozen pitch letters, you will begin to get a feel for how to approach each one. The key to a successful pitch is research. Yes, it takes time. But would you rather send out 500 quick pitches that don’t have a great response rate or take the time to send out 5 well thought out pitches where you are more likely to get a response? 5? That’s what I thought. So now, let’s look at little more at what sponsors you want to approach.

Where to Find Sponsors for Giveaways
Etsy, Etsy! Etsy is a fabulous place to find sponsors. Many of these shops are growing and looking to gain visibility. Again, DO NOT pitch to sponsor whose products you have no interest in or who your blog would not be a good fit for. Take my blog, The Adventures of J-Man and MillerBug, for example. I focus on family friendly products that are mainly for women and children. I would not want to pitch a sponsor who focuses on men’s garments. I would want to focus on sponsors who have great children’s items or items mommies love (like bath products and jewelry). So how do you pitch Etsy shops for potential sponsorship? DO NOT SEND MESSAGES ON ETSY! If you send unsolicited messages on Etsy, you will quickly be banned and have no access to the site! You can join a team (Blog & Sponsor Connection Team, The Giveaway Connection) or you can search out individual shops. Most shops will have an outside website. Go to the website, find the contact tab or an email address and you will be able to send the shop owner a personal message.

Other Giveaways! As you are looking at other blogs, be sure to look at their giveaways. Find blogs that are similar in size and content as yours. Look and see what giveaways they have done before. Shops or companies that are familiar with the blog giveaway process are much more likely to agree to sponsor.

Your Wish List! We all have one; items that we would love to have. Be realistic in which of these companies you pitch but it is fine to dream big! Think of items you would love to win (Tassimo Brewbot, Car Seat, ect) and look up the companies. You will usually be able to find a PR tab with an email address for media inquiries. Sent them a detailed email explaining what you are looking for and how participating in your event can benefit their company. You are more likely to hear no from the big sponsors but every once in a while you will get a yes and it will make the process worth it.

Writing Your Pitch Letter
Writing your pitch letter is very important. Again, it is essential to personalize it! It’s fine to have a general format that you go with but do not send out the exact same thing over and over. Many shops (especially on Etsy) know each other and will compare notes. You DO NOT want to be known as that blogger who sends everyone the same thing. Below is an example of the general way a pitch should read (remember this letter is specific to my blog – you will need you own information and the sponsor in this letter is fictional).

Dear Ann,
Your shop, Designs By Ann, is one of my absolute favorites. I have fallen in love with your adorable children’s hats and clothes. Every time I visit I find yet another item that I must have for my little one! I have hearted many of your items for our Christmas wish list – with some of my favorites being your soft chenille beanie and adorable summer onesie.
I would love to feature your designs on my blog, The Adventures of J-Man and MillerBug! My audience is mostly young mothers like myself and I know they would love you just as much as I do! I have over 2,600 followers and receive over 27,000 page views each month so you can be sure your designs would be seen! After all, being seen is the first step to sales and I want to be able to say “I knew her before she was big!”
I have a unique event which is coming up in December that may be of special interest to you. It is a Giveaway Blog Hop called Lemondrop’s Santa Stop, Drop & Hop! What is a Giveaway Blog Hop? It’s a group of bloggers coming together to showcase and give away items from some of the most fantastic shops around. An added bonus is that it is starting on Cyber Monday so it would be a great way to get a little boost for Holiday Season Sales!
I would love to have Designs By Ann as a featured sponsor for this event. You would get a sponsor spotlight post on my blog dedicated specifically to you and exposure to the hundreds of participants that will be taking place in this event! Doesn’t that sound great! Please let me know what item you would like to sponsor so that I can be sure to include you!
Again, I am a big fan of your designs and look forward to working with you to grow your shop!
Sincerely,
Jeannette Fender
The Adventures of J-Man and MillerBug
www.myadventureinmommyhood.blogspot.com

That’s it! It’s not super hard and once you’ve written a few, you will get the hang of it. Now don’t expect to hear back from every letter you send. That’s just not realistic. Be prepared to hear no – probably more than you hear yes. But stick with it and you will see results and find fantastic sponsors that are a great fit for you blog.
Just as a quick side note, really think hard before you accept sponsors that approach you that don’t line up with the vision on your blog. Potential sponsors will be checking out your blog to see who you have worked with before and if you have sponsors who are completely off base with what you write about, you will lose some of your credibility!

I believe there is a huge potential for building traffic and leads with infographics. I am learning to create my own in Photoshop and have two that I'm going to launch soon. I may even get into the development side and sell templates since I have some graphic creation experience.

I saw Darren mention in another thread he is using them. I've been wanting to get into these for some time, but just haven't made the time. Creating them is quite fun too. I think they can go over very well with my hair site with it being very visual.

I've got some ideas up my sleeve. Looking forward to exploring this even further.

Anyone experimenting with these yet?

I am thinking of creating multiple static websites but there are something I need to know first. I know static sites rank relatively low compared to dynamic sites. But there are many keywords for which there is not a good site let alone static or dynamic. If I target those keywords and make some static sites then will it be fruitful? I am not considering getting a lot of traffic but the traffic should be enough to make up for the cost of the domain for one year at least. Even though the websites will be static, they will be updated once in a long while. I am thinking why not take the advantage when my web-host supports unlimited number of domains.

Some people suggest that wordpress can also be used for creating static sites. Is that so? Or I should go for HTML template based sites?
