I know of some good logo designing softwares, but I haven't found a suitable software for other web related graphics.

I am a very poor photographer, but my niece is very good. She lives on the East coast while I live on the West. She has agreed to be my photographer to take some nice pictures of my items for my shop.
I bought her a camera card for her camera. We were going to use that card just for my pictures and send it back and forth as needed when I mail her my items. Anyway, she was thinking that maybe she could just take some pictures and then email them to me. We are wondering if that would change the quality of the photo?
Long story short I know, but...........
My question is this: Should we go with using the camera card or would emailing the pictures to me and me then uploading them to my blog and or ETSY shop be just as good? I want the better quality. I don't care that the camera card was expensive, however if emailing is just as effective I will go with that.
