In need of serious help with placing an image banner

I've been wanting to do this for a very long time but haven't been able to find help so I thought the best resourceful place to get help would be here over at Website Babble.

The issue is this, I want to make an image banner (link included) that spans the width of the top of my page, similar to the one on this website:

Using the firefox app "Firebug" the code is listed at:

I've tried inputing a similar code on my site but didn't have any luck getting it to work. I'm sure there's CSS involved but I would'nt know how to put it into my pages in joomla.

I'm using the latest version of joomla and here's what my pages look like:

As you can see, the two pages are somewhat similar except for the top part. If I can get some help on this I'd greatly appreciate it!

How long did it take form the time you applyed to find out if you were accepted or denied? I just applyed this morning and was wondering. I looked around and it seems that the time can vary from a day to a few months. How long did it take for you?

Inserting an image

Hello Everyone,

I'm a total rookie here. I've been perusing the forums and scouring w3schools and htmldog, etc... but I've been unable to post an image on my site. I've tried a dozen different codes and nothing has worked. All I get is a box with a red X.

I downloaded a template to get started. I've been pretty good with the code so far but the image problem has defeated me.

Any of you experienced folks have an idea that might help?

Can i place pictures of runners on my website? I kind of want to make a place for runners biographies. So i need a display photo for each one. Also how can i get their biographies and not violate any copyright issues? I was thinking of copying some data from wikipedia. Please help me. :o

Rollover sound problem

Hey y'all!

Got a problem. I'm using dreamweaver MX and am adding sounds to my mouse rollover images, but on some computers it does quirky things like ... when you put your mouse over the image for the "boop" sound to play, it instead asks to download the sound (which is an mp3). Or ... it opens realplayer and tries the play the sound that way.

What gives? How come it asks to download the sound or opens programs to play it? I'm guessing it's the code? I'd give the link to the page, but I don't want to be viewed as advertising my website. Looking at the code in Dreamweaver it seems pretty simple ...

Any ideas? Thanks!

I want to develop some instructional videos. I've seen tutorial videos where the instructor can zoom into a particular area of a screen. Is this a standard feature in packages like Camtasia or Camstudio, or should I be looking elsewhere? Thanks in advance.

Hello, was wandering what is some of the worries I should be aware about when comes to Copyright videos.

I would like to start a website posting different videos, I find on youtube, metacafe, etc... that I think are interesting to discuss and write about. If I provide a source of where I get these videos from, am I clear to post as I please?
