Default question about yahoo

I received an email today from yahoo offering me to register for a domain name @ $1.99 for the 1st year, and $9.95 yearly after. Is this a good way to go, or am I better off going through "website palace"? If this is a good way to go, would I still want to go with website tonight for my hosting?

Hi mrsb,

I'm not too familiar with websitepalace or websitetonight, but it seems in terms of pricing, website palace or yahoo would be your best bet. if you decide to go with yahoo, you can get the web starter package for about
$12/month instead of just registering a domain name. Website palace is a tiny bit more expensive than that, but they include a blog in their package, and yahoo does not. I would just eliminate website tonight alltogether. They only give you the ability to build 5 pages for $10/month.
But base your final decision on your goals. How many pages do you want your site to have? What's the purpose of your site? Is is just a hobby or are you trying to make extra money or promote a business?

I was just reading over my reply and I feel like, after all that, I didn't even answer your question! All three options will register your domain name as well as host your site. So you should just use one company for all your needs. For example, do not register your domain with yahoo for $1.99 and then go to website palace to host your site. Instead pay yahoo $12/month for the domain name and web hosting (if that's who you decide to go with).

Thanks - sounds like that would be the best thing to do.

Does Yahoo have an easy to follow set up program?

Hi mrsb

I believe they (Yahoo) have a website builder. Their site/hosting plan should say if they do or not.

WebsitePalace does have an unlimited pages plan with Website Tonight but it's $12.99/mo. Of course you can get much cheaper hosting at other places but some people like it because they have the templates and you don't have to design your site.
