Default How to hide the fact I own a domain name?

Greetings,

I work in tech support for a software company and would like to start a support forum for our users similar to this one. I brought this up to management but was shot down "We make a ton of money off support contracts". I still want to do it but I want to keep my job. How can I register a domain name and run a support forum similar to this one while keeping my identity private. I need that job.

Regards,

Tim

You can provide a different owner/contact name for the Whois information. Or, depending on where your domain is registered you might have the option for WhoisGuard - this is where your details are masked.

I use NameCheap who provide the WhoisGuard for 1 year free. - See here.

Anytime I register a domain name I usually have the registrar mask my personal information. I really don't like m personal information available to to anyone.

Same here. Too many cowboys out there that would use that info for their own gain.

Hey, I'm a Texan so I took that cowboy reference literally.
