Domain name
I have a "blueprint" for my website. I have searched and found these names were available.
Funeral-prearrangement.com
Funeral-preneed.com
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks,
Biffster

Hi biffster,
The problem I have with both of these is that they may be difficult to spell or remember. They're fine for search engine traffic because people don't have type your address in, but what about the person you happen to casually mention your site to and they get home and can't remember how to spell it. Or the person trying to tell someone else about your site and can't quite remember the spelling.
What about funeral-preparation.com? That's a little easier to digest. Is that already taken?

Thanks Lisa
You're right. I'm thinking of more of a "how to" approach that's more user friendly. SOmeone else gave some good suggestions. I would like to run them by you.
Thanks,
Bruce

I would go with a shorter domain name myself. They are usually easier for people to remember, at least for me.
For the two word names, try without the hyphen as there are only two words and people are probably used to domain names without hyphens. Then again, it is your name.

Got it!
Lisa,
I decided on funeral-planning-guide.com
I have my storyboard ready and am working on my site. I'm going over adwords, and affiliate links etc.... Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bruce

Lisa,
I forgot to ask, once your site was up how long did it take to get listed in the search engines?
Thanks,
Bruce

It was pretty quick if I remember correctly... 1-2 months for MSN and Yahoo. Took about a year or so for Google but well worth the wait.

You can get indexed in google pretty quick if you use a couple social bookmarking sites. Digg is one I used to get the main page indexed with in 2 weeks.

I should clarify that I got into Google pretty quickly (indexed) but the real traffic/better rankings didn't come till much later.
