Default Domain expired...

I have been waiting for 2 weeks to have a domain that someone else has that I would like to make it mine...

Godaddy said it was going to expire yesterday but I did an imput and it still says it is taken...

What is going on... Is there a grace period or something...

Hmm... I could be wrong, but I didn't think there is a grace period. It is also possible that the owner of the website decided to renew his/her purchase of the domain. I wonder if you contact GoDaddy they may be able to provide you with more details.

I think when domain expires it takes a while before it will be available as the registrar will take sometime and before they will update their database.

Many registrars do allow a grace period once a domain expires. Although there is no set rule as to how long the grace period lasts, most seem to last one or two weeks. Each registrar is different with regards to a grace period.

I have several domains that I have forgotten and expired and just later found out they are important and since there's something like a grace period I was able to retrieve it and sometimes there's a fee of $30.

Even if a domain name is set to expire it does not mean it will be available. I have all my domains set up for automatic renewal. Every year many people find out that dotcombot.com is set to expire and attempt to jump on it only to find out that one minute before it expires it is no longer available. I get several emails every year around that time with offers for it as well as most of my domains. Your best bet is to find one that is currently available or email the owner and make him or her an offer.
