Hey Pippis, Welcome to the forum!
You've asked three very tough questions and I'm going to answer them BUT, I believe you asked these questions expecting honest answers and they may not be the ones you want to hear. DO NOT let this discourage you!
1) As with any domain (or anything else, for that matter) it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. This is based on future potential in the buyers eyes or a brandable name fitting within what the buyer intends. For instance, no one in the world would have bought nike.com had it not been for the shoes, it doesn't have any other meaning. However, if your brand name is nike you gotta have it, right?
2) It is a catchy domain name. The caveat I have here, though, is it should be used to promote something that fits with the name (unless you already have a company named isemester. When I first saw the name I thought of college, maybe that's just me but if you had that site and promoted something to do with college it would be more recognizable and memorable.
3) It depends on what you do with it. Experience and information is popular and completely different from what the domain name for that experience or information happens to be. Facebook, wordpress, ebay are perfect examples of branded names. Fifteen years ago I wouldn't have given fifty cents for something called ebay.com. Guess I should have spent those quarters, eh? My point is that popularity has little to do with a particular name and almost everything to do with the experience. It's easier to get going with something recognizable (such as iSemester) than with something which is an unrecognizable word (such as ebay) but the experience and work put forth can overcome either.
I would get the name, it does have several things going for it. The word semester, as I've previously mentioned, made me immediately think of college, so there is recognizable potential for that. The fact that it has an "i" in front of it makes me think of something online, that makes sense only to me and may or may not be true of other people. If you do decide to get into something of a school or college related site, it is definitely a good name.
So like I said, don't let it discourage you. If you are simply looking at those three criteria in order to make your decision, you may want to rethink what your end purpose for your particular website may be, where you want it to go, and, most importantly, how you are going to get it there.
Disclaimer: As with everything else the above represents only my opinions, others, I'm certain, will vary. Please take them for whatever you feel they are worth.
Hope that helps.
