I have a hypothetical question. I have 2 web sites...
1) www.mobiiart.com/japanesestore
2) www.japanesestore.com
Imagine that both sites are identical. Same links, same products, etc.
Which will get a higher google ranking? Both have the keywords in the address, but not in the same way. Is there a difference?

I would think that Google would value japanesestore dot com more for keywords related to "japanese"

Google recognizes if you have part of the keyword in your primary domain name, and would rank you higher for related keywords.

But nowadays, however, Google is changing a lot of its SEO rules... so who knows anymore

Thanks...I was just curious. I grabbed the domain www.mobii-art.com , because I haven't decided what I want focus on yet. I am still trying to figure that out, so I couldn't get a niche specific web address.
