Domain name for blog

I want to start a blog for my detox specialist site using Wordpress so I can get my own domain name.

The stuff I have been reading on blogging seems to be saying that I should choose a blog name based on keywords that have fewer competing sites than 1.5 million.

So should I look for something catchier than "The Detox Specialist Blog" as the keyword "detox" brings up 25 million sites on a Google search.

I would definitely have the word "detox" in it but I don't necessarily think you need to include the word "blog" in your domain. So something like detox101.com or thedetoxspecialist.com (I'm assuming detoxspecialist is probably taken?) Something catchy yet explains your concept would be good.

I own the domain name www.thedetoxspecialist.com (I was surprised that it was available when I registered it last year). I have an opt-in page at this site for my newsletter. So I was wondering if I should still call my blog by that name or try to find something more catchy based on some other keywords to do with detox.

I have not come up with anything yet though.

Hi Sandy,

thedetoxspecialist.com is a great name

I would use it for your blog and incorporate your opt-in page into the blog.

The fact that the name is one year old and already indexed by the search engines will also help in your search engine rankings.

There's no sense starting over when you are giant steps ahead of the pack!

Just use a sub domain such as blog.yoursite.com instead of starting all over again. Theres two reasons why you should do this its more catchy, you can link them both easily.

And your current visitors are more likely to view it. Though if you still really want to make another domain keep your keywords simple and don't include the word 'blog'.

If I am not mistaken I've been know to make a few of them, your website is hosted at hostgator...

Which means you can just add your blog using cpanel then clicking on fantastico...and you should see the word press link. Click on the link and you should be able to install your blog automatically.

Your blog would be: thedetoxspecialist.com/blog (u can actually change blog to almost anything you want.

OR maybe you already have done that...if you have, never mind!
