TeenagedBreastCancer.com, FightingTeenBreastCancer.com

There all quite long words so you might want to shorten them down much, use the keyword tool to perhaps create a domain around a keyword that others are actually searching for.

What about:

BreastCancerTeenSupport or TeenSupportBreastCancer
BreastCancerTeenHotline or TeenHotlineBreastCancer
BreastCancerHotline4Teens
BreastCancerTeenLine
BreastCancerTeenGuide or TeenGuideBreastCancer

Unfortunately, any domain that contains "breast cancer" will be a long domain. However, I personally do not think the ones mentioned thus far are tooooo long.

On a different note, I have done breast cancer research for 2.5 years, so if you're looking for a science consultant or writer, let me know

Default Great Idea & Marketing Idea

Terrific idea. I hope you have great success.

Just an idea. While I would definitely get a dot com address to start, I would suggest getting a dot net or dot info and make that the "real" name, what you use to promote yourself. That will give you a better information image, as compared to a marketing site. At your host you can just redirect the dot com address to, say a dot info. That way it won't matter if/when people type in dot com.

Good success.

James

Default LISA Please

I have been looking up many keywords, I think It will be an overall site for breast cancer but I really really want to get the word out about inflammatory breast cancer, so could you check that key word and see what you come up with ? Thanks Debbie

I don't think its amusing dont worry there's plenty of people worse than you I believe I knew some guy who didn't no what the internet was.

You will only buy one domain, so you bought a .com

It would be:

Yoursite.com/pages/content.html

It wouldn't suddenly change to a .net because that is a different domain there separate its like oranges and apples.

You can't mix them your domain and all your content would always have that .com somewhere in your visitors address bar.

I hope you can grasp it one day its always harder when you start off it gets easier though; promise!

Default welllll

So , I would buy a .com and also buy a .net ? Maybe I should come up with my "main name " first. Should it be a .com or a .net ? Thanks again

I always shoot for the .com names and then register the .net version just to keep copycatters from taking it and then I redirect it to the .com.

Default More on com and info or net

Don't worry about what you don't know. Gerald Mann used to do a talk show on TV (doesn't matter if you don't know him, just giving credit) and I loved one of his comments to people in similar situations as you are in now. He said, "Everybody is ignorant. Just on different subjects." So don't feel dumb, you just haven't learned a few things about this stuff, YET.

Another great point that I picked up from Brian Tracy (just credit again) was the fact that no matter who you see who knows a lot about anything, there was a time when they knew nothing at all about it. You are already ahead of where they were then.

As to the .com or .net (or .info), you can easily do a redirect. It is a one click step usually with your hosting or registration set up. You are asked at registration whether you want to "park" your site, or "redirect" or if it will be hosted somewhere. Very easy. You just type in the site you want to come up instead. You experience it a lot when you type in a name and suddenly you look up and see a different address on your computer.

In almost every case I would do exactly what Lisa suggests. However, I think Lisa might agree in looking at your focus, in this case you are looking at a health help site that would really be designed for helping teens talk about cancer issues and get support. Personally in this one case I think I would actually host on the .net or .info and redirect the .com so that the .net or .info would be on the screen. This would leave less of a business image and might help marketing as well. Just my thought. Lisa is welcome to straighten me out.

Good success

James
