Default Dull website..?

Well... My website is based upon "Articles" for others.

My question is, what other materials can I add upon my site to "Spice" things up and keep people coming back?

Email responders/mailing list? I would love to but at this time I just don't have the money to do it since my site is so new.

Forums- Traffic is too low to host a popular forum.

Any tips?

Default Adding Content

How about adding some free video games to your site for the visitors to play. You could add several free games and let them make a selection and play free. Then you could ask them which game they liked the most and to please select one and leave their comment and email address. This would build up your user list and also give you some more contacts. Good Luck. William Wilson

Default Stick with content

Everyone gets in a hurry to get traffic. I know how hard it is to resist that impulse. I am not immune.

But listen to your own question. You acknowledge that your problem is a lack of content but then immediately avert your attention elsewhere. If you don't have the content then your job is to get the content!

I am working on a site that has taken many months of work to get the content I need for the subject. While some sites can be great with eight or ten pages, I am going to be over 100 pages on this one before even thinking about SEO or advertising or anything else.

The subject you have requires a lot of content so stay focused on that content until it is enough to be of value to whoever visits.

you have one good suggestion, and one great point.

the websites that will last longer require high quality and high quanity content. if you can not do the writing, make the video's, or make audio recordings, than I strongly suggest you purchase a good plr pack and rewrite it, or hire some one who can do the work for your site.

once they are on your site, you are able to create interactive features, such as the games, question and answer blog format?, contests, personal history contribution requests, what ever you can find that fits both your goals, and the goals of your site while keeping your visitors interested.

I agree 100% with James. When I was working my first website I was searching all over the place for gimmicks to get more visitors, but the fact is you can't force people to come to your site and actually stay/enjoy it. You need to build up your content, have a good layout, no overwhelming graphics, and people will be more inclined to link back to your site. This is going to give you a bunch of "free" advertising, and as a result a larger visitor base. You need to treat it the same as a business, make your visitors happy and they will tell people about you, and continue to come to your site.

hi rammuny, your site is kind of dull. It is very well organized and everything but i think it can at least use a graphic or two. Their is so much text that it almost looks intimidating to the viewer. The first thing i said to myself when i saw there is too much to read. A couple of graphics or videos may help break it up and keep visitors interested. Otherwise i think all is good.

What will keep people coming back is the fresh content, if you keep adding it people will come back, if you don't there is little other reason for them to return. A few images on the site would also make it look a little more inviting, when its just text it looks a little dull and unfriendly.

I couldn't agree more with all those who have suggested that you add content to attract more visitors. That's what I've been doing for the last few months with my web site and blog. It is a slow process that takes a lot of work and some patience too. Over time though I am certain that my hard work will pay off. I now have over 50 pages on my Internet security and privacy web site and blog. However, I am not done by any stretch, since there is so much to write about my topic. I think that as long as I am willing and motivated to write new content I'll always have something in my niche to write about.

Well so far I've added an image & a video on the home page to help attract more appearance .. As far as content goes I have around over 40 pages published but still much more to come..

Images I plan to add more to spice of the website and make it a bit more appealing.. Possibly fixing the heading and adding a image instead of text there

Smile I like the video added

Rammuny I like the youtube video you added to your homepage. It really adds some spice to it. I think that one addition is enough to make the homepage appeal to visitors.

Default Hard to Nav, Hard to Look at.

1. You site looks very unprofessional. Its a little too "casual".
2. You font is too small.
3. You need more pictures or media.
4. Change the colors and make the columns wider so you site isn't so long.
5. Make important information seen. You have a lot of great topics, but listing them on the side is not the best way. Lisa's site is great because her Nav Bar has large bolded letters.
6. The links at the bottom of the page are to far down on the page for anyone to know they are there.
7. Your ad is in a weird spot.

Basically, its template. Its not meant for a website of this capacity.
Good luck choosing another template.
