Making a pitch to sell them on my service!

Hello All!

I've got some really great news for my Hold em site. Today, after much negotiation and talk with one of the premier poker sites in the industry, they placed my site in their poker site directory with a PR5. Their directory is about 10+ pages deep with 20 sites listed on each page. After bargaining they placed me on the first page of their directory at position #6. I know for a fact this site gets over 53,000 hits a month.

Here is my plea for help. They allowed me to place 2 links within their directory so I pointed one of the links to my poker coaching page (I did it on purpose). Now I want to market my service and make a hard pitch or sell to enlist prospects for our service. Can and will someone look at my Poker Coach page and help me with some wording or re-phrasing? What am I lacking that should be there? How can I make a better presentation?

I will leave the advice to the experts as I don't feel comfortable in that area...but I just wanted to cheer you on!

Congrats on getting a high-quality link to your site!

One thing that confused me with your content is when you said "Download the following poker clients...." and then you link to a page with a bunch of other links. What am I downloading? Am I to just visit the pages? That confused me. To me, download means I am going to save some sort of guide or file to my computer. That's not what your site seems to do so that may confuse people.

Sorry for the long delay, I actually thought this post was deleted because I couldn't find it until I did a check on backlinks to my site and found this link.

Anyway, I don't quite follow what you mean. Could you expound your vast knowledge on this subject so that I can grab a few bread crumbs and make some application for the betterment of my site?

Well crap I can't find it now. LOL I could have sworn when I first went to the site you instructed people to download something but you took them to a page where the download couldn't be found. Nevermind. Now I don't see it. Maybe I was out of it that day. LOL

Overall though I think your content is solid. You've got a ton of tutorials on how to play Poker so I think if you keep promoting and do what you're doing you'll be fine.

Hi Lisa and everyone,

I ran a check Saturday on my keywords and I noticed my page on poker coaching is ranked 13th.

For the longest time it just sat there (not found by google) and then about a month ago I wrote an article about "Learning to Play Poker" and submitted it to many (30+) article directories. Since then it has been climbing the ladder upwards.

Question: what else can I do to help it's upward climb and improve it's PR? Would appreciate any helpful hints. I ask this question because it is so friggin hard to get backlinks from another poker related site.

Excellent! Doesn't progress feel wonderful? To answer your question, when I see a page climbing I don't do anything. I just keep building my site and work on getting other pages to rank higher. You can try tweaking your content and maybe adding one mention of the keyword near the beginning of your page but to be honest keyword tweaking is pretty useless these days. A lot of time your overall ranking has to do with the popularity of your entire site. So just keep building and doing what you're doing and you may see it improve on its own as your site gets more inbound links.

I have a question for you. I am in the middle of submitting my site to more directories. I am wondering if I use the keyword "poker coach" with a description and submit it the web directories? I haven't placed the keyword on my index page yet, but was thinking about it. Just trying to score better for the keyword. Give me your thoughts please.
