Do you think Michael Jackson is a good article subject for an ezine article? I'm just thinking. If folks only go to article directories to read up on how-to, then hows he gonna fit in?
First of all, I doubt many general web surfers go to ezinearticles to read anything. I would guess the site is most frequented by webmasters looking to submit their articles and webmasters looking for articles for their site. So other people who have sites on Michael Jackson (or related topics) may find your article and use it on your site.
Just to add to what Lisa said, the value of ezinearticles.com is that it has a high page rank, which means if you optimize your article for a specific keyword, it should generally do well in the SERP.
