Free Traffic and Content
I have got loads of content on my site but google is indexing my homepage, contact us and about us page only for some reason. How can I get all my pages to get indexed? Do I need a sitemap?
Does it mean the more content the better? I'm building my site with original content that I am writing myself so I'm writing about 10 articles a day. I'm planning to hit the 1000s page website. Does this work in my favour eventually with google in terms of free traffic?
Thank You

I think you should definitely have a sitemap, but if your site is new it's perfectly normal for only a few pages to show up at first. Just keep building and all your pages will eventually get found.

Lisa,
Thanx for that piece of advice. It's a piece of advice but it helps so much.
Cheers

ssmorgan,
Cheers for that one. Just have to keep it going. I'm just going to ask you a quick one. For instance I build a 1000+ page website with original useful content. Does this work in my favour eventually with the search engines in terms of free traffic? I'm trying to do it this way instead of SEO. Does this option work or I'm on the wrong planet?
Cheers,

Are all the articles about the same topic?
I think it would be better if you are working on 10 different websites with 100 related articles in each website, instead of one site with 1000 articles about 100 different topics. Does this make sense?
Also, if you are targeting each article to a specific keyword, in essence, you are doing SEO.
Final note, I have heard/read somewhere that the Google spiders have a hard time following/indexing sites when they get too big (more than 250 or 300 pages of content). Not 100% sure about this, though.

Man... that is alot writing. Tell me are you doing this part time or full time.
I do about 2-3 per week part time. Do have a some kind of program/script that helps you generate that many articles per day?

Relevant content is what the search engines want and need. So like Sherif said, if you have several different topics on one site, it could be a problem. In terms of SEO, your pages could get over looked if you have too many of the same keyword on one page. The search engines look at that as spam.
So in essence, just throwing a lot of content out there the wrong way could cost you free traffic. This is only according to what I have learned so far.
I guess you could say that the search engines will only help those who help them spread good, relevant content.
