Question A Book Review & some other thoughts

ahhhh My head is about to EXPLODE SOOOO Much to review & digest, I am on my 4th SBI video day and have been doing my brainstorming/keywords searches etc...

Getting close to putting my content down on paper... I seen on Lisa's flat-stomach-exercises.com a book review as well as other sites.

I do have a book that has been extremely helpful to me and is right on target with my site concept...I have recommended this book a lot on my blog but have NO relationship with the Author.

#1- can I still write a review about his book? (I assume I can)

#2- what is the best way to link it so that if possible I get some type of referral fee...

I do LOVE the concept of being an INFOprenuer and building a site that brings a lot of value to the readers/visitors.

But as U know the hardest part right now is getting it rolling/ at least 10 Focused Content pages down in a good flow and I would like one of those to be that book review? cause it does have a common theme within my site concept.

Any thoughts on Book reviews and best ways to do one? Do I wait or add it on my initial site roll out?

Thanks all,

Bob

Default Book referral fee option

Have you considered Amazon? To me it is a plus in that you can suggest it as an ordinarily lower priced option. You save the reader money (a service) and get paid for it, too, when they buy through your site. A win win.

You don't need a personal relationship with the author but it helps to have a personal relationship with the book. That book on my SBI! site converts very well because I wrote a review and actually bought the book. A lot of people just slap a book graphic on their site and say "It's a great book and buy now."

But it helps to actually show you've read it and tell your audience what you can learn from it. I found the book on Clickbank about a year ago, bought it, read it, reviewed it and Voila.... it brings in a few hundred dollars per month in revenue.

Check out www.clickbank.com and do a search for books in your niche. Their commissions are high too because the books are digital. The book I recommend on my site pays about $27 per order.

Thanks Lisa....and Yes I do have a good relationship with this book and also bought them as presents for friends and family...also will check out that ClickBank site!!

Thanks James, I did look at Amazon, not sure if I understood it correctly to offer products through their store but I think it was $59 per month? to have a store front with them...is that what u were referring to ? Does anyone know what they charge? Do they offer different levels of pricing?

Default Amazon's program is called Associates Program

The bad news, Bob, is that you are unlikely to make $27 on anything through Amazon unless it costs several hundred dollars! So you are not going to want to count on this in small quantities to be very worthwhile. But compared to what you get for clicks it's pretty good.

The good news is that it is free and not too hard to do (everything is always represented as easy, right). The rate you get is between 4 and 10 percent depending on the product (electronics get 4% and electronic downloads 10% at any volume, for example) and volume. So a $20 book would get you anywhere from 80 cents to $1.70 depending on your sales volume.

I would look at this as a part of advertising income and something like Lisa's example as something you promote as a major feature of your sales effort. You can get the details about Amazon's Associate Program at: http://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/join.

Oh, so true about the Amazon referrals. The payout is so horrible. Notice I neglected to mention those books I refer from them on my SBI! site. I actually forgot about them since the amount I earn is so insignificant. I just checked my report and saw the $3.54 I'd earned from 12 sales. Pitiful! But every little bit counts (I guess).
