Which theme for beginners?

I have just installed a Wordpress blog on the same domain as my squeeze page but I want to have my own header (or do you call them banners) designed.

What I can't seem to find out is which themes will allow you to do this?

Wordpress FAQ do not have clear cut answers and say that some in the "options" category will allow you to do this. But how can you tell which ones?

When I find one how can I find out what size banner I need to fit it?

Why is it all so difficult, eBlogger was so much easier!
I hope it will be worth it in the end.

The tricky thing with WordPress is that all the templates are vastly different since many are designed by different people. So the size you need would differ. With WordPress the top banner/header is usually listed in the header.php file. So you need to open that file and find out what size the existing image is and them replace it with the same size image.

as far i know wordpress is the most flexible blogging platform so u can customize it in ur own suit.

u can check eblogtemplates.com. they have some amazing custom made wordpress template.Also after each template post they provide how to make ur own blog header.
