Default Wordpress frustrations with forum support

I have several word press frustrations happening. The forum support takes forever to get help. For two days I have been trying to resolve what should be an easy issue to address by making posts in the Wordpress help forums. My most recent forum post this morning gave the exact location of where I accidentally backspaced 2x and messed up the code. Someone responded with an entirely different theme editor showing me code that had no relation to the code I had posted which had the error in it. Grr What a waist of time.

Two valuable lessons

1) Back-up your Wordpress code before you alter it.

2) Be aware that people in help forums have a habit of skimming over posts without actually accurately reading the details you have posted. Make changes to your code with caution.

It just seems to be human nature to point the finger at someone else for my own mistakes. I will be glad when the problem situation has been solved.

I don't use Wordpress so have know information regarding the forums. Once technique I have mentioned before is to create a second "development" blog that is based on your first. This way you can make changes in this blog without affecting your real one.

Then once you are happy with the changes, you can then copy them over to your real blog.

Default The Wordpress issue is resolved

The Wordpress issue is resolved now. It was a small entry in the code that was missing. It took an intire day of reposting the issue before anyone responded in the Wordpress forum. When they finally did the initial suggestions were totally unrelated to the theme editor that I was working in when the error occured. In the original post, I gave a very detailed explaination of exactley where I was working with the code.

After much persitence over the coarse of two days finally one person began to work with me and within two posts we were able to resolve the proublem.
