Hi KRH,

I would recommend a Web Hosting service with cPanel and Fantastico feature, that way, you will be able to upload the Wordpress software on your server very quickly.

I personally use HostGator for all my websites. I highly recommend it.

Also, I would recommend importing the posts you've made on Blogger, that way everything (links, comments, etc) remain intact.

I wouldn't delete the Blogger blog. After you transition to Wordpress, I would post one last time at Blogger, and say something to the effect of "we've moved. the new url is...".

You might notice an effect when you do the switchover, but I am sure you will catch up, and you will be better off in the long term.

I hope this helps.

Sherif

Hi KRH

I just went through this process 3 months ago and it wasn't that bad. Because of recommendations here I switched to HostGator and it was pretty easy to install (WordPress). You just go to your control panle, click Fantastico and select WordPress.

As Sherif said, there is an "import feature" that allows you to import all your old blogs so definitely keep your blogger blog until the transition.

As far as your new blog address, I used the tutorial below to redirect my blogger address to my new wordpress address...
