Default RSS credit

I am curious....Most of my merchants have RSS feeds, but none of them allow me to stick some type of code in there to assure that I get credit for sending the customers there from my website. Is there a way to do that? What is the html code to get it done?

When you refer a visitor to one of your merchants (i.e. when your site visitor clicks on your affiliate link), a cookie is created.

A cookie can last 1 day, 30 days, however long the merchant decides. If the visitor clicks on your link, and comes back to the merchant's website (through an RSS feed or directly), you should still get affiliate commission, as long as they are coming back within the lifetime of a cookie.

I am not sure if this answers your question, but let me know if it doesn't.

Default Not sure

I understand what you are saying, but what I am worried about is first time visitors to MY website, that click on something in an RSS feed and go to the merchants site for the first time. They haven't been to the merchant via my website before, and are using the RSS feed link to get their. My affiliate code isn't in that RSS feed.

Where would you grab the code to the RSS feed to the merchants?

If you got it from the affiliate network, your affiliate ID should be embedded in there, even if you cannot see it in the link.

I am worried that I may still not be answering your question, so please let me know.

Default No link

My merchant doesn't offer the RSS feed in their links section. I can only get it like anyone else would, from the page itself. I have sent a note to the merchant asking if they can resolve this. Thanks for the info.

I see.

I thought you were referring to an affiliate network generated rss feed.

Unless the merchant runs its affiliate program in-house, I am not sure they will be able to help you. You may be able to get some help from the network through which you joined the merchant's affiliate program.

I am curious, let me know what happens.
