Hi Revenue,

Yes, there are some blogs out there that make a lot of money, but it's so easy for newcomers to think that it's super easy since they are free to create.

Building traffic to a blog is hard work and is no easier than getting traffic to a website. You have to be savvy enough to write good, unique content people want to read, and really understand marketing and how to promote it. Even though blogs are free and easier to create, the same success principles apply.

Hi Revenue,

I agree with ppc, most of those people are experienced, know how to write and are usually not first time website builders. I'd love someone to prove me wrong. Do you have a successful blog? If so please share your tips with us? Many of us are new here and are just getting started.

Welcome, by the way.

Unless someone is exceptionally clever, usually successful blogs are owned by people who already have successful websites. To help boost the blog's PR they link their existing site to their blog.

It is very rare that a person builds a successful blog from the ground up without a site to help promote it.

When I think of the blogs I read, all of them are owned by people who have heavily trafficked sites and they use it to promote their blog - which is the right way to do it in my opinion.

Welcome to the forum, revenue!

Talking Funniest thing just happened 2 me while tryin to get some traffic for my blog.

I just added a bit of juice to my blog at

golf-hut-nightfox.blogspot.com

so i can then try to bring some traffic to it, however the method i tried using was using yahoo answers, like answering questions so i can place my blog info a the end or try to link. I could not believe that all questions had the closed for answering thing on them and i couldnt do nothing, i guess because all the questions were old. I 'll have to try other means. And to answer angie's question i have made, exactly .20 cents so far from one of my junkier blogs, and thats without trying to pull traffic.

Well angie im no techie but if i had any advice for your blog it would be to

1 blend the ads with the colors on your page so they dont stand out, ads but dont let em look like ads, you can custom the title, text, border and url of the blog as far as color goes,
(to view an example of this go to )
golf-hut-nightfox.blogspot.com

2 would be to track your blog in adsense channels

3 put your ads above the fold and make sure they're relevant to your blog.

4 and most important at least i think is always continue adding content or at least ad a sentence or something so that google senses an update on your blog helping your blog to get further up in a fresher list of recently updated sites or blogs where you can be found easier. Cut google refreshes lists daily when a site or a blog has been updated or changed. You probably knew all that already, as u can see im still a rookie.

I have that same problem with Yahoo Answers. Grrrrrr.... I do a search and find a ton of questions in my niche and the darn thing is closed.

I'll be honest with you genius webmaster i think that is definately a genius approach a software the writes content for you 24/7 .

Search engine compatible and i checked out your blog and the address is even a normal .com address that is excellent i wonder how accurate it is on the subject chosen?

I wouldn't mind using something like that, however how do you get it to stop writing for you and how good is it on getting you indexed. I'd also like to know can you change some words around yourself or adjust the article a little if you wanted to for better search engine optimization. I just checked out your blog its excellent. It actually looks like a website.

Lol, I highly doubt that works. ;-) If it does, it's really just a splog, and provides no good content.

Go ahead and make your own website. It's worth the effort, is fun and can pay off in the long run.

So let me get this straight, your application is so ingenious that it writes itself and has a brain of its own. Hmmm maybe you should try to sell this to google. See what they say.

I just checked out "the genuis webmaster's" blog. His entries on the blog are from Google news feed.

Using google API or wizards you can embed Google news in your blog or website. So, its not a software that writes content itself. Its merely a collection of news from various online news sites shown on the blog with a original title and small summary taken from the original news source using google feed.

I guess thats what you call an automatic genius. I thought genius webmaster would have replied to my post by now.

I now what you're talking about, i used it on my free blogger blog from google. It posts news relating to keywords entered.
but i posted a response to webmaster geniuses post cuz you never know whats new out there, certainly i was skeptical. But if i im wrong genius webmaster should reply.

I do wonder if i can use that google news feed on my site though, it would most definately com in handy. I haven't looked into it cuz i thought it was only available for blogger. but im not sure.
