I currently have a WordPress website independently hosted. I am completely re-doing it in order to offer a subscription to restricted pages that include a blog, miscellaneous pages and ultimately a forum (once I have enough subscribers). Is this possible with Wordpress? I am on a very limited budget. In other words, can I do this myself?
By the way, I just subscribed to AWeber to manage my email campaign. Maybe I should simply restrict the information for subscribers to email? This does not seem a very "elegant" solution. I'd rather have a website with a log-in function.
I looked into this a while ago. Ultimately I ended up not making the site, but the best plugin I found was this one. It supports different roles, subscriptions, one off payments and other stuff too.
There are a few other solutions for WordPress out there too: take a look at thesepages or Google "wordpress membership plugin" or similar.

Thanks, Meloncoly! I appreciate you taking the time to suggest some options. Temporarily, I'm using the email method to generate communications. Once I get a following, I'll be checking out these resources. Thanks again!
