Default new blogger

I feel like I don't know where to start. I started a blog on food. its on consumerfood.blogspot.com and the concept is to review new food products, and tell people whether they should buy it or not. Is this a good idea and how do I get people to go to my blog? Do I have to have alot of reviews first? What about advertisement for my blog?

Have you identified what specific keywords you'd like your blog to be found with? When I start a new site, I usually have some main keyword phrases that I want to target. I write content around those phrases for SEO.

Almost any topic is good if you've identified a demand and target audience. It's all about your execution. Who exactly are you trying to reach (other than people who eat food). What is your overall goal in terms of providing unique information? There are ton of food review sites out here. What are you going to do differently with this blog?

Well this food review is for food coming out of stores and fast food. Would I be wrong if the key words were things that I didnt write about?

Might as well be honest and use key words that will attract the types of people you are trying to reach.

Im hoping I can do good through twitter, I mean Perez Hilton was a blogger too, look at his break through, and how many people talked bad about celebrity's. I have had 17 people visit my site but nobody clicked. But im going to stay hopeful and stick it out. Im thinking about doing a game blog also since i've played a good bit of games this summer.

Another thing, when should I do the blogs, once a week? every other day?

One responsibility of a blogger is finding your own rhythm. There is no right or wrong time period. I blog once a week but that works for me. Other people blog daily or multiple times per week. The key is you should blog when you have something interesting to write about. Again, it's about knowing what your audience will value.

Default 54 cents! YAY!

So what template do you think I should get. I actually made 0.54 that was exciting and I joined linkshare and CJ hopefully I can get somewhere with them.
So far 117 page impressions and 4 clicks, whats up with that? Not even a whole month though so fingers crossed. I've only really been active with twitter also, I guess I had some trouble with myspace because Im not really sure how to advertise in myspace without being a pest.

Also do anybody think I need more content? I was thinking of adding pictures.
