Wordpress meta tags

Hello Everyone,
I am using worpress as my home directory and I was wondering how to add meta tags in wordpress.I am kind of a N00b at worpress and do not know how to do this. Please help! lol

What tags are you wanting to enter? As there is a plugin you can grab called all in one seo that will help with seo and your keywords and description. However if you are wanting to add robot tags and such those actually have to go into your header.php file.

How would I go about getting to the header.php file?

You can edit all your themes .php files through your WP Dashboard. I'm assuming you know how to access that area? If you don't post back and we will help you out. You should also get an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client like FileZilla. This way, you can access and backup your files from your web host's server before you edit.

Its quite easy actually you can use All In One SEO Pack wordpress plugin. After installing this plugin you can easily add meta and title tags for each and every post.

Very true, Anita. Thanks for the reminder about this feature of All in One SEO. I use Windows Live Writer to compose and upload posts to my blog, so I have to go into Dashboard and add the SEO tags after. Sometimes I forget.
