I was recently told by a colleague that she was unable to leave a comment on my blog as she got this message:

Forbidden: You don't have permission to access /blog/wp-login.php on this server.

I altered some settings on my dashboard a few days ago that I thought were preventing people commenting. (I have not had any comments left on my blog at all in about 10 months.

Today I have received about 36 New User registrations where all the user names appear to be random letters and the email addresses all end in @poczta.fm

Can any one tell me what is going on here. Is this some automated process?

poczta.fm is not familiar to me but your experience is a reminder to me, once again, to never believe anything works until you really try it out for yourself.

No matter how sure of myself I may be, I always test anything I put up on the web for myself from the point of view of a user. Any time you make a change like that I would test it. I have several email addresses for different purposes. It is not hard to use them for registering, posting and deleting. That way I get a chance to review my welcome pages and things of that sort which are easy to forget about (and they do get obsolete from time to time for various reasons).
