That is so right. I first came up with the idea to "blog" was after telling my stories to my kids over and over as a mother will do they asked me to make a journal of some sort;that I should write a book which surprized me for I thought my stories went in one ear and out the other lol
When I first started looking into all of this I got so caught up in the "making money" aspect of it all that I wasn't having any more fun then I thought about what I do for a living as a Chat Host and when you are talking online that I never really cared if someone actually replied to what I was saying but the fact that I was putting my thoughts out there and the rest fell into place.
I love when the ole light bulb pops up over my head. Get your sunglasses out!

For the original owners, they made money once google bought YouTube for over $1 billion dollars. The problem with YouTube now, is that it hasn't paid off for Google. Analysts are predicting a loss of well over $100 million dollars from YouTube.

Lisa indeed make sense here. But I think the constant time andefforts investment and high demanding--such as the new idea, the competitveness could really drove people crazy.

Yep, I think that is dead right. "Leap, and the floor will appear." is one thing I think we all have to keep in mind when building our content. If the content is not good enough only the floor WILL appear.

I was thinking when everybody do the same thing, then it becomes so hard for u want to do it well.
The same goes to the blogging.

You want money through it, then u have to contribute a lot, the time, effort and your brillant ideas!

The last one is the most valuable one as I see.

It took me a while to discover my own niche with my blog. When I first started blogging I wasn't sure what I was blogging about. I mean, I knew I wanted a blog, but I was unsure why I wanted to blog. It's important to define your blog's purpose - be it graphic design or scarpbooking - and then focus on that purpose with your content.

Once I knew that my blog would be about me and my artwork I also had to think about what my visitors would want. Would they be interested in always visiting my blog to read about me? Probably not. So I had to narrow the focus down to what would be interesting to my visitors, because without them it would be pointless to even have a blog (or a web site, for that matter).

Finally I realized that I could write about me and my work, but I could turn that knowledge around to create articles and tutorials that would not only highlight my abilities but also be informative for my readers. As for making money on my blog this was never my intention when I started it. I have however put up a few affiliate links to test this concept, picking only products that relate to graphic design (Tools of the Trade).

Otherwise I blog because I have things to say which I believe are interesting and educational. I can only hope that my visitors feel likewise.

in my opinion, authority is key to blogging success, you have to give value first to attract visitors and money...

i think with a few small success it really help with motivation -once you see that it works and is lucrative and its potential ,you see all you have to do is hard work wich is easy - you just figure oout what to write in my case design tuts then create
and because were creating something of value from nothing a service not a product there is no limit to what you can earn - ie
if you make a post that does really well with vists and add ctr then you can do it over as much as your willing to work - with fresh ideas of course.

anyway rant over i thought i would let anyone whos interested know i started my blog at the 1st of this month and i have now made my first uk pound ,thats $2 which im really happy with - cos it means i can make more

BUt, is that vaule for a little or for most of the people?

SO, I will say it is really hard to cater many at the same time!
