Blogger is the name of Google's blog hosting platform and it is completely free. The downside is that you don't have as much control as a self-hosted Wordpress blog.

TG is completely right of course...however, I would suggest, if you are completely new to Blogging and such, that you start off with a free Blogging platform like Blogger/Blogspot and then once you settle in and get used to the Blogging Lifestyle....you may want to then grab your own domain name and create a blog site that really grabs your passion. Use the free one as a testing ground to work out the bugs and then move on up. Hope that helps All the best.

I might also add that you can use a custom domain name with Blogger, which I recommend. This way if you do move to a self-hosted Wordpress blog, you can move your domain name to that blog from Blogger.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate your response. I think I will start with free Blogger/Blogspot and get use to the blogging systems first.

[I would also like to know if you can use google adsense in free blogger. I know that having a website is better for google adsense, but I just want to try little of my ideas first with free Blogger using google adsense to see how it goes before committing money for domain name and hosting.

Thanks

You can use Adsense with Blogger. In fact, Blogger includes an Adsense gadget you can use.

You can include any type of advertising on your Blogger blog.

I would have to agree with everyone else by saying I would start with blogger to get your feet wet. One thing I did not see anyone else post is that I would look at some kind of analytic tool to get feedback on your site. you can also do this through blooger with google analytics... Maybe it is just the engineer in me, but I find this information extremely useful.
