I would use a sub domain for your blog. Something like blog.yoursite.com
There are several platforms to use with blogging, I use wordpress for mine. zit has a ton of options as well as being user friendly. Several web hosting providers have one click installation programs if you are not comfortable with using a FTP client.
I am working on another project in which I am going to attempt to use the blog as a main traffic source in the early stages, then have it drive to traffic to the site.

I like Wordpress
I have a Wordpress blog that is mysite.wordpress.com (free) which does really well in the search engine rankings. I also have a .com domain with them that I pay for hosting and had to buy the domain.
I have one with Blogger also but don't not care for it as much.

I started my blog on Blogger and recently moved to a self-hosted WordPress blog.
I didn't mind Blogger, as it was quick and easy to use. My developer instincts took over, and I began to want to be able to do more with my blog. Moving to a self-hosted WordPress blog allows me to have full control of my blog.
Regardless of which platform you use (Blogger, WordPress, etc.) you should definitely get a domain name for your blog.
After you have create your blog, get setup with FeedBurner (feedburner.com) to manage your RSS feed.

That would work...and just as importantly, having a link from your blog to your main site...

I think I made the mistake of using blogwebsites.com---I am constantly having problems getting into the site. Can I move the blog elsewhere?

Hey Bruce, I have Go Daddy Hosting. Once you have your domain name purchased and have a hosting package set up with them , the Wordpress is free and easy to get going. The Go Daddy tech walked me right through all of the steps on the phone it took a few minutes to get the blog set up as a .com

How long were you on blogger before you converted it over? I want to get my feet wet with blogger first and then go from there. Just trying to keep it all managable. Thanks for the advice.
