That's happened to me before
That's why I don't accept everyone. Glad to be back. Been enjoying my job layoff, updating my SBI site and Google blog, and I'm picking up my scooter tomorrow.
I also joined that Spider Marketing System but was not happy with it at all. I"m just sticking to my SBI and Google blog right now. I get so turned off by folks posting these 'form letter-type internet postings' with pictures of wands of money, treasure chests, gold coins, etc. saying how 'you can make money overnight' - so many pyramid-like schemes out there, it's really a turn-off!
Gas here in NJ is well OVER $4.00 - my Explorer remains parked in my driveway-

Wow, I just got 130 clicks from a blog I put my card on yesterday and I'm trying to decide if I should be happy or skeptical. Does anyone know if EntreCard blocks clicks from the owner of the blog? For example if someone advertises on my blog I could keep clicking their EC to make the Webmaster think they're getting a lot of traffic? I often wonder if people try to cheat the system like that.
Anyone know if EC blocks multiple clicks from the same IP to keep people from cheating?

I'm not sure how EC tracks clicks. You could always ask the question using the feedback form on your dashboard.
If you do let us know, I'm curious myself.

Yeah I think what I'm gonna do is post a message on the forum. I got a pretty quick answer last time. I'll let you know.

Based on the answers I've gotten so far, doesn't sound like IP addresses are tracked so there is plenty of room for click fraud. Apparently EC is working on it.
Overall, I still think it's a good program. I've spent some time over the last 3 days getting more involved and commenting on other blogs and the traffic I'm getting from my new card and profile has been pretty sweet. Kinda sorry I didn't join this sooner.

There are always good and bad things to Entrecard, but overall it really helps new blogs get noticed. Older more established blogs don't speak highly of it, mainly because they already get the traffic and don't need Entrecard's help.
As for click frauds, there are still some rough edges that need to be ironed out. The good news is that they are constantly improving on the entire Entrecard system (it has changed substantially since I joined), so I wouldn't be surprised if they fix that soon.

Hey Lisa, now that your ad has finished running on my blog I was just wondering who it did.
I just finished running on yours and received 58 clicks for 32ec. I also noticed that the price of advertising on you blog has gone up quite a bit. I guess the little secret of advertising on your blog for cheap is out.

58??? Wow. Grrrrreat! You happened to get the perfect day to advertise on my blog. July 9th was a record traffic day. Someone "StumbledUpon" my "10 Awful Blogging Practices" post and that post alone received over 600 visits from StumbleUpon yesterday and my blog got nearly 2,000 visits. I was wondering what kind of traffic your EC would get from that temporary boost in my traffic.
My EC did very well on your blog too. I got 38 visitors. Even though that ranks 3rd on my list of advert clicks from other blogs, you're blog probably belongs in my 1st or 2nd spot. I really have a feeling those other two blogs reporting 135 and 170 clicks consist of fraudulent clicks. I hope I'm wrong but that just doesn't seem right when I look at their traffic stats. Anywho, I'm sure I'll be back to advertise on TE again! I also like the fact your EC spot is above the fold.
I'm doing a little experiment and bought some credits. I finally got enough to advertise on John Chow's blog. It will be interesting to see how that pans out. Hopefully he's too busy making money to generate fake clicks.

hate to be a spoilsport( ), but i dont really like entrecard. I agree it's a good source of traffic, but it seems a tad 'un-professional' and adds to clutter...
Not good for the minimalist that I am

It's not for everyone, but I'm going to stick with it. Been getting decent activity lately and even some potential networking opportunities from it in the last few days. Unfortunately many people in the program add the card to their already-cluttered sites but I try to choose sites that appear professional and don't have all that clutter around their cards.
You're going to run into that problem with any free traffic program so you have to work it as best you can, understanding these things come with the territory.

Apparently Graham (found of Entrecard) has some news on Tuesday that will hopefully change things.
Entrecard has definitely helped my blog, but as Lisa said, you need to pick and choose which site to advertise on.

OK, great. I really hope that he will implement something to improve click tracking.

Thanks. I have wanted to redesign it for some time...but nothing too fancy.
I just did that quickly last night in Photoshop. I have to keep that logo in the card, though.
