Anyone Used "Blogger.com"?
It's my only option, seeing as websitepalace *lied* about blogging options. But I am wondering, if you have used it, does anyone know how to make a fully custom layout? I can do a little bit of editing here and there, but I just can't figure out the code enough.

Hi Webtoy,
I'm assuming you didn't like the Quick Blog option provided? I haven't used it but your opinion matters because I can talk to reseller support about the products if you don't feel they are satisfactory. I'm affiliated with them so your opinion matters.
I've used both Blogger.com and WordPress. Both are good. Blogger is easier to setup than WordPress for most but WordPress has more add-ons.

Dude, wordpress all the way. I'm using it right now, and I'm one satisfied customer.
What I like about them is the vast amount of themes they have.

Do you use wordpress with websitepalace? I couldn't figure out how to change my settings in order to use it, or even how to begin installing it. I emailed for tech support, and I asked what blog software I could use, and I got this in reply:
"Thank you for contacting Online Support. The free software on Windows includes the following:
For Economy only:
Community Server 2.0
DotNetNuke 4.0
YetAnotherForum
For Deluxe and above, the above and the following as well:
ASP.NET 2.0 Personal
Web site Starter Kit --
ASP.NET 2.0 Club Site
Starter Kit --
ASP.NET 2.0 Time Tracker
Starter Kit
These are the value applications for Windows. Further information and assistance can be found here:
http://help.securepaynet.net/index.p...g%5Fid=2create
Please let us know if we may be of further assistance."
Not much help, right?

They'll be hearing from me about that reply. QuickBlog is a freebie that comes free with every domain name. It's not nearly as robust as Blogger and WordPress. I'm going to call support tomorrow and get clarification on using WordPress with them. Stay tuned.

i don't know much about websitepalace. But do you have a cpanel? If you do, goto fantastico, and under blogs, click wordpress and then click install.
That should do the trick. I'm currently using hostgator.

KRH,
If you like, you can very easily transfer your current Blogger blog to Wordpress.
Go to Wordpress.com to create an account and to get started.

I just called Reseller Support and you can install WordPress but you have to be on a Linux platform. From the response you got it sounds like you are on Windows so you can switch that in your control panel.
That would explain why you got stuck at that one step because you are on the wrong platform.
If you have questions, try calling support at 480-624-2500.
As far as the email response you received, I will make sure that gets forwarded to the appropriate party. Not very helpful at all.

Thanks, Lisa. Can I use a Linux account on a Windows computer, though?

Absolutely. It has nothing to do with your PC, it's the platform on the hosting's server. For the average webmaster, Linux is fine and it's what I always use for every website.
There was a thread a while back about this and it boiled down to the fact that Linux is fine for most Webmasters. Perhaps some more techy folks can chime in for why you'd need Windows and its advantages, but I always go with Linux.

Wow, I didn't know that! Thanks Lisa, I'll change my account to Linux!
EDIT:
Hmm, where do I need to go to change to linux? I'm in my control panel, but I can't figure it out.
EDIT AGAIN:
Figured it out. Thanks for all this help!
