Font size
Any advice on an acceptable font size for websites? Also, any suggests on the best method to increase the size?

Hi BreLove,
For what it's worth, I'm on your site now and I love the font size, style and color. It's very easy to read and I don't need to strain my eyes. So for me it is very "acceptable".
Your blog has changed so much from my first visit. Keep up the good work!
Ok, now I'll go finish reading your post...

Ooooo thank you, Ileane!!! Very encouraging. I'm using FF and the font seems small and it only gets worse if you look at it on IE.

I did a side-by-side comparison and I don't see any difference in font sizes between the two browsers:

Personally, I would like a slighty larger font, or at least make your text black (#000000) so it stands out a bit more.

Thanks - Black might be a good idea. If I made the font slightly larger, what would be the best method? Using the em code?
Update -
Ok, I increased the font-size by few %, I think it looks a little better. Changing the font to black would require that I play around with the links and all.

You can't please everyone. I had smaller font before, someone who reviewed it said it was way too small. So, I made it slightly larger. Next thing I know, someone else says it's way too big. lol I kind of think it's a little too big now.

good observations
You are both using your own judgment to good ends...I think you are right on.
fundy23, you are right, your type is now a little large in the basic content area. I wouldn't change it in other areas. And your site looks great, by the way.
You likely know, but your registration inputs extend outside the left column into the main area. You don't have a wide enough column to have the label and input boxes on the same line as it is, so I would recommend putting a line break after the labels which would put the boxes under the label. (You may have a better idea.)
BreLove, your Resourceful Mom blog is terrific. I don't fit into the target audience but I've enjoyed reading there anyway. You have some great insights.
Your type size is good. I don't find it too difficult to read your color but you can make it a little darker by going to your css and just change the color under body to #808080 for example (a little darker gray). That way it might read a little easier but not be a problem with your black links which work well.

Thank you, James (insert big Kool-Aid smile here)! And, I'll darkened the font a bit.

If I may be so bold as to add some other suggestions I have picked up in my brief experience as a blogger....
-don't forget the 'split post feature' in WP. It helps to get more content on your main page for viewers to scan and they are then not faced with a full page of text. You can split the post right after the introductory paragraph.
- insert a small image or two to break up the text or introduce an article. This makes the overall appearance of your blog easier on the eyes and draws attention to each post as well.
Your blog is a nice implementation of a great idea; keep up the good work!

Thank you for the compliment and suggestions. Yeah, I know about the column thing. Just not sure how to change it. I'm quite new to this sort of thing so I'm looking at it now

Absolutely no offense taken. I just (yesterday) removed the 'post split feature' and as I was removing it from each post, I was thinking what a witch it would be if I decided to add them back again. And, I did pretty well with the pictures for a moment there and then started concentrating on other things and steered away from looking for (and paying) for them. No harm at all, I didn't forget. Thanks for sandwiching the advice, my feelings are still a little squishy, being a new blogger and all .

Your form is an Aweber form so what you would have to do is to make a new form at Aweber or edit the one you have there with line breaks so the boxes are below the labels—or alternately you could widen your left column in your page code.
Also, I would center the ads just below the form.
