You can download the plugin to backup your Wordpress site. You can get the detailed information from the below mentioned URL:

May I know which control panel are you using to manage your site?

The link posted above also recommends WP DBManager, which I also recommend. I have been using this plugin to backup and optimize my database on a daily basis.

Control Panel ? I'm using BlueHost's cpanel, do you need something more specific than that? If so, I can find out.

On BH, I got notification that I need to upgrade/download a script for the 2.8.5 version but it strongly recommends backing up your database first. I already did this within the app a few weeks ago but I guess this is different.

Thanks, I'd read about this particular plugin but wanted to know if it was all that it says it is. I'm not that worried about losing my template/theme as I am the information. I saw one plugin that saves the text info in a .txt file but I don't think these are the same plugins.

I use mysql dumper - its a database backup program. You can backup all of the databases on your servre from one location. And its not "just" for wordpress. You can backup wordpress, vbulletin, smf,,, any kind of mysql database.

After I backup the database, I download the entire HTML folder with FTP.

I moved the .htaccess file like the instructions stated but the warning that it could be visible is still on my admin page. Is it possible that I did something wrong or am I suppose to do something to remove the notice? I'm concerned that there are multiple .htaccess files and I moved the wrong one. The only one I saw and moved to the directory specified was a htaccess.txt file.

Thanks ~Kev~ for the additional information.

Did you rename the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess?

No, I didn't see that I needed to rename. I'll do that now. Thanks.
