Affiliate Programs and Your Niche
- Is it a good idea to look at the types of affiliate programs available while developing your niche? If there are no affiliate programs, wouldn't it be best to know that upfront if you are looking to make a profit from your site?
- If there aren't alot of affliate programs or ebooks in your niche, would this be a good indication that there may be an opportunity to create an affiliate program or ebook with less competition and maybe a good profit? You know, untapped territory.

I would think if there are very few affiliate programs for your niche, then the niche is not profitable. Not sure about this, but I think it would be difficult to find a niche that does not have affiliate programs. Are you thinking of a particular niche now? Maybe someone can let you know from experience if there are any programs available for it.

Originally I was thinking of a "how to" (for lack of a better phrase) for Single Mothers; however, I'm thinking that it could just be for women in general with motherhood being one of the topics. Since I will be addressing things like finances, car buying and home buying, etc. all on different pages, I was thinking that each page would have affiliate programs specific to the topic at hand since I doubt there are affiliate programs specific to women or single mothers. Make sense?
I know the competition for both of these niches are through the roof but I'm unsure about the affiliate programs specific to these topics.
I haven't purchased SBI! yet so I'm not sure what the Brainstorming tool will tell me so this is all still in the air. From my understanding, the tool helps you narrow down the topic so by the time I'm done, my niche might be women's socks - LOL!

In the unlikely event that there are no possible affiliate programs for you, then you have the opportunity to create YOUR OWN products (eBooks or physical products) and create your own affiliate program. There may even be a high demand for it, since no others exist!
But chances are, there will be affiliate programs for you. SBI has tools that help you find them.

I think the more competition there is, the bigger the cake is. Don't worry about tough competition, as long as you spend time and effort, you will get your piece of cake.
