Default Paypal problem with receiving payment

Hello!

I have a problem with Paypal.

I've started working on a tutorial website on which I am thinking of putting affiliate marketing products but the problem is, most companies and online services require their affiliates to have PayPal accounts so they can pay them commission that way.
I do have a PayPal account but I live in Croatia and PayPay does not support people sending money to Croatian PayPal accounts. Only thing I can do is pay something online and my debit card gets billed.

Has anyone ever had this kind of problem? Do you think a company that offers an affiliate program might want to send me a check instead (like GoogleAds does for example) if I asked them by e-mail? Is there any alternative? What should I do?

P.S. I've sent an e-mail to PayPal support and they say that they are sorry and do not play to extend the receive payment option to Croatian accounts anytime soon.

I'm guessing you don't need to have a PayPal account to register to LinkShare? It is a service that handles other companies' affiliate programs? Looks good, I will check it out.

On a side note. I got an email from PayPal this morning asking me to fill out a survey on customer support quality. I filled it out and wrote that I was not very satisfied with the "We don't plan to expand our services to Croatia anytime soon, sorry for the inconvenience." because it didn't really solve my problem. I'd be silly to expect them to introduce the receiving option to Croatia just because I am pressing the matter on their survey, but who knows, I might get lucky.

Sorry to hear of the payment problem you are having...It does not appear that PayPal is going to change anything to help you out with this...I suggest you try the URL that was sent to you by kelevraco and see what you can work out there...All the best...William Wilson

Possibly??? I am not sure whether this is a possibility or not but it may be. I have a few savings accounts and the like online. Perhaps you can open an account at an international banking institution online and have Paypal transfer funds to that account and from there you transfer to you local bank or even have checks on that account directly. You might check into it at least.

That's a good idea. I didn't know you could open international bank accounts online. Thought there was to much paperwork to do it like that.

Default Not much to it.

Many banks do business all over the world. I would just look into them. Most only require you to sign up with your basic id. You do have to have a local bank account into which you can deposit and withdraw funds. I would recommend that you open a new local account with a minimum balance separate from your other funds and use that. This is just to protect your other account information.

Your advice is wise James, "The all-knowing Eagle".

I will open a new account sometime next month. Before that, I need to find an international bank where I can register online and accomplish what you suggested in your post. Before I start my search for such a bank, does anyone have any suggestions?
