Question Affilate Honesty

I've often wondered about affiliate honesty. After all who's to really know if your planting them a garden and their only repaying you in seeds or even paying off at all. I've searched around several times and it seems those I think would be great to have turn me down instantly or several days later. Then their are those who accept you before your mouse click grows cold. Its almost like the too good to be true syndrome.Seems to me we take them on in open faith that their true to their word. People in the real world skim millions from others so whats to stop these place from skimming off of us.
Other than that is it worth even seeking after until you have hits coming out the ginga. Or is one solely turned away because the didn't like your site or concept.
Anyone else ever wondered about this.

There's always a risk that a company could do some unethical things behind the scenes so in a sense you do have to just trust you are being treated fairly. All you can really do is monitor your clicks and make sure the program has a decent tracking system and continue to monitor activity.

I hardly ever join programs that don't have real-time click/sales reports or programs that don't use respectable networks for tracking. I'm always monitoring things and if I hear of other people having problems or feel something's just not right, I jump ship.

There's always room for foul play and I don't think you can ever guarantee everything's always on the up and up, but that's the nature of affiliate marketing.

a wise man once told me that nothing is ever as good (or as bad) when you first hear it. just my general philosophy on anything, really, which has become something that I assume my readers will be able to relate to.
