Default Dating niche

Has anyone tried venturing into this niche? I'm interested in finding out if anyone tried promoting dating via ppc or email marketing? I'm looking at dating sites in CJ, only the ones that payout on leads as well as sale.

With so many of the MySpace, match.com, eharmony.com, etc. and unfortunately with so many horror stories of individuals that get caught up with these websites, I personally think you could be treading on dangerous territory. Dating websites are NOT safe if you really think about. Why would you want to risk going online 'meeting' somone who've you've never seen before? Opening up a can of worms for sure.

I personally know of a young woman who met a man on the internet, he was from Mexico, they met in person, got married within 3 months and broke up 6 months later and he left her with no money and a mountain of bills that she has to pay all by herself.

They are many other different niches you can come up and that will prove more practical, profitable, informative and safer than ANOTHER dating website. Keep doing your research and right one will come along for you.

While I agree with Renee that online dating can be dangerous, it is not, in my opinion, more dangerous than meeting a stranger at a coffee shop or a bar. I think this is the general consensus, plus people are more aware of precautions to take when meeting anyone for the first time (whether they met online, a bookstore, or a bar).

Despite the seemingly potential dangers, online dating is becoming very widely accepted as a way for singles to find dates. This is evident by the growth of the online dating trends.

Recently, there has been a surge in specialty/niche dating, which makes sense if the usual suspects (match.com, yahoo personals, etc) are getting too big.

Webdev, I had some success with promoting free profile registrations with several dating websites (most of them were through Azoogle Ads, which is a CPA network).

Are you thinking about a general dating campaign or specialty/niche dating?

I think the data niche could work but here again it just goes with doing something different. For example, eHarmony took some of Match's share because they went the Christian route and go to extra lengths of narrowing your match down before you can even contact them. Then plentyoffish.com took it a step further and offered a free service.

So if you're going to do this, what would you do differently that these other sites aren't doing? Plus it seems there are a lot of odds and end you'll have to manage (security, member profiles, etc.) I think it could work but just like anything else, it would be a lot of work and you are going to have to work harder at marketing and creating that uniqueness than you probably would just building the site itself.

But even though a lot of people feel it's dangerous, it's much more acceptable than it was 10 years ago. I know several people who date online and wouldn't worry about that.

Default Go for the dating site affiliate venture

Give it a try...what do you have to lose other than a little research & trial time, especially if your just promoting CJ affiliate dating sites with lead pay outs. Everyone is always going to need someone and people will always need their grass mowed, eyes fixed and trees trimmed. It is a market that one in every two single people will be interested in. With the divorce rates as high as they are the world is full of singles.
