Lisa is right of course. When in doubt, always talk to your affiliate manager. The issue with affiliate merchants is that they want you to promote their products or service like you would be talking to a friend. In this case though, your friends could number in the thousands...

When promoting a product or service you don't want to "pretend" that you are part of the company or are affiliated with them because of course, you are not. Your job is to promote a merchant's product or service in such a way that influences your readers to trust your judgment about said product/service. If you are just slapping a banner or two on your site then there's no grey area. But if you are creating a site around a given product or service, then you have to tread lightly. It's kind of weird because you need to dis-associate yourself from the merchant but still sell their product or service independently. Hmmmm...what a strange business...
